I can't decide if that's funny or pathetic. :? Of course I doub't AMG owners will be amused.

I doubt they even care really.. Im not all that annoyed with fake badges to be honest. More amused than annoyed. I mean in general. I dont have an AMG Merc (yet).

Whow knew? a Smart roadster, not an AMG though!

I've just bought a Z4M coupe what I pick up next tuesday. Can't wait. One thing I did think though was the M badge on the boot does look like its just been stuck on. Not sure why. Maybe its just where its located on the boot

I don't think the rear of the Z4 lends itself to badges to be honest. I'm pleased with the look of mine having now removed the Z4 badge.

I may be way off here but I think......

AMG to Merc = '//M' Division to BMW (IE a seperate division but pretty much part of the main group)
Brabus to Merc = AC Schnitzer to BMW (Entirely sperate but very good tuning house)

Fair summary?

Brabus is to Merc as Alpina is to BMW, they have to get TuV type approval on their cars, and are classed as manufacturers in their own right.

Not sure on what Schnitzer do, isn't it just bodywork and tweaks rather than whole cars?

Dave

Fair point!
I was lucky enough to be taken around Silverstone in a Schnitzer "Race Prepared" M3 by Tim Harvey when I was younger. I just assumed it had had engine mods too.
Was bloody good like :D

Schnitzer do or rather did engine work previously, unsure on whether they do now.

Similar to the Alpina work usually increasing engine displacement on OEM BMW engines.
