That's it...I'm done waving at Roadsters!

I used to wave at everyone and worked up to waving regularly at a blue coupe and a red E89.
If anyone in the Yorkshire area sees a green lotus please wave as I've only seen one other lotus whilst actually driving my car.
I have been acknowledged by a couple of Porsche drivers, two classic British cars and one R8 though

was the Porsche driver the other half ? ..... seriously we are a nice bunch us Porker drivers .... i wave at lotuses up here

I've acknowledged 5 or 6 roadies since becoming a Z4C owner just over a week ago and all I've got in return is a blank expression or a "who is this nutter?" look :headbang:

From now on I'm limiting my nods and waves to Coupes only

Mini rant over 8)

Hope one of those wasn't me, I spotted a Black Z coupe in traffic, at the last minute and didn't have time to wave. Can't even remember where but would've been the Kidderminster/Stourport/Bewdley area on Fri/Sat/Sun. Lol, can't be more specific.

If it was me, apologies, I do wave at other Zeds. Unless I spot them too late.

Only had my car a month and think I wave or flash lights to all Z4s if I see them but only had one wave back!
I did have a strange day a couple of weeks ago where 3 non Zeds waved at me which caught me by surprise, wasn't sure if I imagined a wave or it was perhaps a different hand gesture!

Still get acknowledgement back more than not. :D Thanks to silver Roady in Tavistock on Sat morning for the latest friendly wave.

Those that don't, Your doing something wrong. guys :P

Thus far I've had no acknowledgement from Roadsters around my parts - maybe it's the Oxfordshire lot being a bunch of boring dullards :D

1 Coupe I see regularly in the mornings who I wave at, pretty certain they're not a member though. I was in traffic with another Coupe the other day, and as I was crawling passed I glanced over with a massive great big grin on my face... Only to get blanked for around 10 seconds, before briefly being looked at the with most unemotional face I've ever witnessed! Would've stuck my window down for a chat had he been friendly :(

Nevermind. I'll keep going for now, not given up hope yet!

OT in regard to waving :o

I'm paused because of parked cars so can let oncoming traffic thru.

Does it p1ss you off as much as me when they don't say thanks?

Right, next time I'm coming down your way, I will let you know and we can have a wave fest

Yes, big time, I normally give the other driver the bird or if my window is down, I shout "Thank you" also showing the finger :D

And can we have the title changed to other Z owners not waving as it's not just roadster drivers.

I often get the same lack of response from roadsters, and I drive one! :(
Me too. I always wave at them - and coupes, I'm not biased :) - but I get the feeling that most other Z4 drivers are on auto-pilot, so unless a car is directly in front of them, and they are about to crash, they have no idea what is going on.

It's all down to their peripheral vision - or lack of.

Keep waving - if it's me, I'll wave back

I think that part of the problem is that 90% of Z4 owners see them as being "just another car".

They are not driven by enthusiasts, to them it is no different than driving a Mondeo. So if you wave at one of those 90% no wonder you don't get a positive response.

I'll keep an eye out for a madman on a waving streak :D

suppose it depends on the type of wave you give, might be thought of a gay wave, not in the jolly sense if you get my drift.

Ha, well I would describe a manly wave as keeping both hands on the steering wheel then lifting the 4 fingers of your right hand whilst keeping the thumb on the wheel. You could perhaps nod at the same time. I wouldn’t recommend taking your hand off the wheel and waving it side to side vigorously whilst smiling.

I will never give up waving ! if the stone faced miserable sods don't wave back it is them who have the problem !

KEEP WAVING ALIVE !!!!!!!

I'm sure they had one of those in Newquay the other weekend. Was full of VW camp man vans though.

I have waved at a few of both and never got a return yet, I just think to myself "Tobies" (pet name for head up arse types) but I will continue on my saga. When I see another MR2, I always get a return wave or thumbs up. If we all continue to wave at Z's, we will eventually wear all the Tobies down and they will start to return our gestures

Yes! Very much agree, doesn't hurt to try!
