That awful tic tic noise from tyres

So driving along minding my own business with the roof down on a lovely sunny day. I notice a tic tic tic noise coming from the front tyre. I knew the day was too good to be true. Fingers crossed it will be a stone in the tyre, but obviously it was a screw.
Fingers crossed it hasn’t gone all the way in…..but obviously it has.
Fingers crossed it can be repaired……yes it can!
Didn’t fancy paying out for a news Michelin pilot super sport when it has 6.5mm tread on it!

Question is…..what are peoples views on repairs?

Done by a decent garage I've no issue with them, had a few down the years and have always continued driving as I would normally

It was just about repairable. Any further out and it would have been a new tyre.
On the m40i I’ve been putting 33psi pressure. I know recommended is 32, but from past zeds I’ve always kept it slightly higher. Is that a bad idea?

I had a run-flat Pirelli repaired on my 1 Series in 2013 and ran it for another 11K miles without any problem.

When I check my tyre pressures I usually inflate them slightly above recommended pressures because over time they do seem to lose a little. Or maybe I should check them more often?

1 psi variance in 32 is negligible.
