I have to admit I prowled about here for a few months while weighing up my options as to which roadster I would buy.
I looked at several makes but eventually settled for the BMW.
Then there was the options available, Z3, Z4, 2.0, 2.5, 3.0 etc etc
When finally settling for the 3.0 I was faced with the 3.0i or 3.0si.
From joining the forum I have had loads of advice from you loy who can speak from experience. I was going to go for a 3.0i which I could get here in Northern Ireland but I was advised that the 3.0si would be a wee bit more fun so I went to Manchester and bought my 2006 3.0 se si. Was a bit more than I wanted to spend but I am glad I took the advice given and went for it.
This car is something else. The sound, the acceleration, the feel, everything about it is more than I expected.
If I was to give any future owner any advice it is to listen to the owners who know what they are on about. I did and it pays off every time I get a clear open bit of road!!!
THANK YOU ONE AND ALL FOR ALL YOUR HELP AND ADVICE.

Great to read you are really pleased with it.

There 3.0Si certainly provides a bit of fun when you want it!

Awesome stuff! Gotta love an N52 at full throttle :D

Lovely zed you have there. Great colour combo. Enjoy!

Sweet! Same colour combination as mine, but I do have the Sports seats :P

Probably worth getting a legal plate for it before some jobs-worth copper pulls you over...

welcome, i nearly said its unlikely we will ever, and then i thought, not if you join us on our early year april jaunt to wales - hope you do - there will be more than 60 of us that weekend :driving: anyway - welcome !

I had my eyes on that car! It was local to me but over budget. Then he dropped the price by a grand so I thought I'd price up getting a new boot lid and go take a look. But you beat me to it. Nice car with almost perfect spec, just a shame about the 'grab handles' at the back IMO.
What was the dealer like? Given his location I was a bit dubious, not helped when he didn't respond to my request for service history info.

I do love that interior & colour combo, welcome & happy motoring

Thanks everyone for the comments.
Samm the dealer was good. He told me car came with a very detailed full service history from a bmw garage. My response was that if it was all he said it was I would buy it.
I flew to Manchester and he picked me up at the train station. All was in order and we did the deal.
As far as the area goes, I grew up in a dodgy part of Northern Ireland during the troubles so I’m the wrong person to ask.
The guys were good although they wasted a bit of time and I missed my boat from Scotland, had to wait till the 12am rather than the 7.30pm I was booked on. But the drive from Manchester to Scotland was great!
It came with a wee rack and bmw box for the boot which may come in useful who knows.
Sorry I beat you too it Samm!! Actually I’m not really!! :driving:

heres something special about the SI yours looks a beaut dont forget the SM button glad you got the z of your dreams have a good xmas :) :)

I'm sure you're not!
Anyway, probably for the best - I've had to lower my budget to £3k :(
Also, it seems we've got more in common than nearly owning the same zed - I used to have a 1.9 Superb too. Great car, but handled like a barge.

My Skoda handles better than the Z4 on these run flats sometimes!
That’s first on my list to change.
