Not had a BMW for about a decade when I had a couple of Z3 s (1.9 first followed a couple of years later by the 2.8 straight six) but have just been and bought a 2016 Z4 SDRIVE20I M SPORT. I've had it for a week now and it's a lovely car to look at and to drive, however, the despite holding out for a car with the navpack and USB, I'm a bit disappointed by the lack of ability to connect to my phone, other than for calls and having to use an AUX cable for music playback. Like, I guess, many people nowadays, I have no music stored I just stream from YT music. Still a thing of beauty despite this though, and I love it already.

In my '07 Z4 I use an aux-bluetooth adapter and works fine for the music; I don't know if it could work with also the standard bluetooth...

Yes both USB and Idrive. However while this works well for calls, to get it to work for other audio from my phone I have to use the aux which has noise on it. At the moment I've got a USB speaker sat behind the seats linked to the phone which works ok with voice control.

In the next couple of weeks I will add the mr12volt box so that I have Android auto.

Next to find some cupholders

Phone should plug into usb in centre armrest and come up as an iPod..top quality sound ..
