My name is Rod and I’m an old twat in his seventies who’s just acquired a filthy, but seemingly sound, 55 reg 2.0 roadster. It isn’t the low-mileage, fsh, pampered car I’d be advised to seek, if indeed I was seeking one, but it looked sad parked out of the way under some trees and the body looked sound enough, if not shiny. The roof worked fine and, having a drive in it up a twisty rural A road for several miles, I was amazed how enjoyable I found the experience.
Long story short, I bought it subject to satisfactory MoT test. That’s now done, with no alarming advisories, and I’ll be picking it up in a couple of days.
Hence why I’m here, a silver surfer wanting to pick your brains for helpful maintenance and technical tips. Who knows, if all goes well, I may even end up selling my R1100RT to recoup some funds.
