I am sure people have had lighter sentences for (IMO) worse crimes- assault, robbery etc

Difficult one to judge, but I think jail was a tad harsh

I think the guy is a prick! What was the point in what he did? I think the best justice would've been him getting knocked out by the bow of the boat, or a good twatting with an oar.

His actions totally f*cked up the race - why would he do that?

Prison harsh? Possibly.....but I guess they are making an example of him to hopefully put of copycats next year. Has anyone ever interrupted the Grand National? What would the result of that be, cos after all, thats another pointless race, isn't it? (its a matter of personal opinion).
