So,Trenton Oldfield who took a swim in the Thames has been given a 6 month prison sentence. This country gets madder everyday.Surely a community service order and enormous fine would be a far more appropriate punishment.Rant over. :headbang:

Geeze ..
You can't go for a swim in the Thames River ?

It was in the middle of the Oxford and Cambridge boat race but it's still ridiculous.

I "race" all the time to my destination. So I can get everyone who dares to use the road in front of me, arrested? :D

sends a message to anyone else who wants to try it.. should do the same with a few other crimes.
Problem is other sentences being too lenient not this being harsh.

Careful with that chain of thought. One mans protest etc. otherwise we'll all be jailed for speeding. Oh, wait a sec...

seems a bit harsh, after all he can't help being a total w*nker.

When in prison its not only his hand that will be doing the relieving...

Pointless race, massive over reaction, waste of court's time + money. Why not just give him a massive fine.

I agree that in comparison to say a guy causing public damage i.e graffitti or smashing a window, Who on a first offence would prob get a fine or community order, And Trenton Oldfield going down for 6 months, In comparison,, HARSH.

However maybe if his case is used as a benchmark going forward then I am all for it.

It won't be Nosa;next week some mugger, that's had a terrible childhood, will be given a non custodial sentence.

So a woman can drive her car into a stationary motor cyclist at 80mph, killing him instantly and get community service. Then this guy tosser though he clearly is, get six months for disturbing the boat race. Countries gone mad.

If he had disrupted the horse shows, he would have been hanging by now :?
