Texas, USA

Hey ya'll.
I'm a new Z4 owner and just poking around reading up on this platform. I picked up a 2003 2.5i with auto trans a few months ago for very cheap because it had a couple problems. It had check engine light and trans light on when I bought it, but I fixed both problems and it runs great now. It had a bad gear selector switch which I pulled apart and fixed and also a bad MAF which I replaced. I owned a 89 BMW 320i many years ago when I lived in Italy and I always had a lot of fun with that little car too.

I like to run track days for fun, and I intend to get the Z4 on our local track in a couple months. Right now I am researching roll bars, looking for a way to add strength to the existing head loops while maintaining the convertible top in working order. not sure if that is possible, but if it is I know i'll find it on the forums somewhere. I'm pretty handy with a set of tools, but I'm not trying to reinvent the wheel or anything- just trying to see if someone else has already figured out a good way that I can copy.

Cheers,

CJ

Hi and welcome :)

I'm sure I have seen a Z4 with a single roll bar instead of the two hoops, but it's not something I recall seeing for sale ever though.
