NO LONGER NEEDED Testing the water - Looking for a manual Z4 E89 in about a month's time...

Thanks for the extra info @Pondy - A remap is something I could definitely consider at a later date... probably a MUCH later date... šŸ˜‚

My priority at the moment is to look at changing the tyres. I had a look this morning, and they are Bridgestone on the front and Avon on the back, so both decent brands, with plenty of tread. I don't know how to tell if they are run-flats though, so if someone on here could enlighten me about that, I would really appreciate it....
Not sure about Avons, but Bridgestone Potenzas have 'RSC' on the outer sidewall if they are runflats.

Run flats will have an indication marked on the tyre. Manufacturers use different abbreviations, but something like 'RFT' will be on the tyres somewhere.

Which part of "I won't be modifying this one at all, that's not really my thing. It will be kept completely standard..." didn't you understand mate? šŸ˜‚ šŸ˜‚ šŸ˜‚
I understood all of it, hence my lighthearted comment about "rules", which doesn't seem to have gone down very well.

Enjoy the car

Yes mate, I understood that you'd understood, which is why I put laughing face emoji's at the end of my comment

Bridgestone say RFT on them, Avon also (or the words run flat which helps).
I've looked on the sidewalls, and can't see any markings with RFT or RFC on them, so maybe they aren't run-flats after all...?

The tyre sizes are 255/45R17 on the front, and 225/45R17 on the rear, if that helps.

I hadn't understood that you understood that I understood. It is now understood.

Are you sure the 255s are on the front and 225s on the rear? Maybe a typo, otherwise they may need swapping. Not sure if these wheels are a square setup?
Edit they look like style 290. 8x17ā€ square set up. Should have 225/45 R17 all round.

Sorry mate, I got the sizes wrong. They are all the same size, with Bridgestone 225/45R17 front, and Avon 225/45R17 rear, but I still can't see any markings to show they are run-flat. I might just take it into my local tyre fitters and hope they don't pull my pants down and give me a good shafting on price šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

The Bridgestone Potenzas on the E85 I have here on 17" Daisies have 'RSC'.
I could send a photo but I CBA.
Ha ha, brilliant! šŸ˜‚

I hadn't understood that you understood that I understood. It is now understood.
Well, I'm glad we have managed to come to an understanding, that's reassuring to know :thumbsup:šŸ˜‚

Cool, depending on age of tyres, tread depth, if they’re run flats and budget I’d maybe swap all four for MPS5 best case or worst case for wallet.
Free mod, as I know you’re keen to change things, you could remove the wing badging. ā€œSDrive 18iā€ delete. Warm with hair dryer and dental floss. Easy.

I think the Michelin MPS5 sounds good, so I will look at this in the next couple of days. Definitely worth getting the wheel alignment set up at the same time as well, which should hopefully sort it out

I got a reply from my mate at BMW regarding the headlight issue, and he said it's normal to have a certain amount of condensation in them. However, when I sent him a pic of it, he said it looks excessive and would probably need to be replaced. The cost for that is around £1300 from BMW, so I will look at other options as the only thing that seems excessive to me is the price, ha ha!

Here's a pic of the condensation:

I’d take the light bulbs out and part the car in the sun and see if it drys out
I agree. It needs some serious heat and an open vent to get that amount of steam out.

Also, it's light BULB, as the inside one is a fake!

Update: I've booked the car into an independent BMW garage (Bartletts, Peterborough) on 29th June for a geometry set up and 4 Michelin MPS5 tyres . They quoted a similar price for the headlight as the main dealer, so that's a pain šŸ˜‚. However, it needs to be done, so I'll probably use them for that as well. I was expecting to spend a couple of grand on the car anyway. I'm quite obsessive about things like tyres, so I think it's a good idea to start as you mean to go on and get some decent rubber fitted straight away. Probably not essential, but worth it in the long run I reckon (y)

Have you considered buying a used one? You may find a new one will show the other one up, and then your OCD will be making you buy another new one.

I think that might be a false economy mate. The RH light is in minty mint condition, so I'm pretty sure a brand new one on the LH side will be a perfect match, and my OCD will be fine šŸ˜‚

Bartlett's are not cheap. I used them once (as I needed the i-drive service updates which they can do) and found them to be only around 5% cheaper than the idiots at Sycamore BMW in Peterborough. I wasn't at all impressed with Bartlett. But I am hard to please!

I know it's a little way, but Bush Tyres in Spalding (opposite springfields) will do your wheel alignment for £65 and they will be cheaper for tyres too. I have used them a few times and they are very, very good.

They were the ONLY tyre garage in the area who would guarantee to fit tyres to my brand new chromed wire wheels without damaging them. And they didn't (damage them).

In fact I am going to book my Z3 in with them again next week for a suspension inspection.
