Test Drove...now the haggle begins

HP deal sounds decent to me. Out of curiosity, where'd you go in the end? Stay in the NE? I've had no probs with Fawdington but I'd still like a shortlist of local deal-makers for future purchases (girlfriend not impressed when I suggested future babies could fit in the boot) :?

8.7% is too high.
You should be able to get at least 7.1%, but nationally advertised rate is 6.8%

But if they can get money on finance that will compensate for giving bigger discount!
You should get discount and 6.8%

Hi, new To the forum so be gentle......I'm looking for a new z4 before the 2.5 & 3l engines disappear and have a couple of questions -

Does anyone know the last date I can order to get the 3.0 non turbo engine?

Looking at whatcar guide prices, broadspeed etc seem to suggest about a 10% reduction is possible. Has anyone got this sort of discount in herts/beds north London area?

What's the situation with the professional nav? Has anyone got a decent discount and the nav or is just one or the other?

What brokers do people recommend? Carquake, broadspeed etc?

Any comments appreciated.

Dunno about the 30i, but I just bought a 35i and basically got £6.5k(including nav) off mine, so yes you can most certainly get discount on top of the free Nav. I get the impression the Z4 just isn't selling, apart from those of us wise enough to know how good it is :)

The press realease said towards the end of the year, but is there a facelift coming soon too? Don't you fancy the turbo engine? Apart from the sound (and there will be a sound generator of some description so it might sound OK), it looks to be a good engine.

Yeah I reckon you should be getting close to 10% plus the free nav on top.

Thanks for suggestions guys. Just playing around with the Broadspeed configurator thingy and it does have professional navigation as a zero cost option so looks as if they are rolling it in which is great news - I watched a few reviews on youtube last night and it looks like great fun but i'm amazed people don't crash changing settings on the road - i'll have to be careful.

Re the 6cylinder or the 4pot turbo - I really think a car like this should have the six even if the 4pot is better carbons etc - not really bothered by all of that stuff. I have an slk 230 which is a supercharged 4pot and I really regret not waiting for the 6cylinder - just sound so much nicer. One other thing that worries me about the 4 pot is that it has a lot of new tech in it like some really clever cylinder bore lining that could end up like the nikasil issue a few years back - I keep my cars for ages so would like to have proven tech in its engine. Not interested in being a beta tester for them.

3 very quick questions :

- does anyone know when bmw put up their prices? I did hear june so will try to get in before that if possible.

- does the professional nav come with a usb socket for adding more music? The reviews seem to suggest it does but broadspeed have it listed as a separate option.

- what's with this electric handbrake? how do you do smooth hill starts? Does the hill hold really work?

Hill hold is great, although I didn't know it existed so freaked me out the first time. I've had a few passengers all comment on my ability with hill starts in the car, I definitely don't plan on telling them

As for the USB sockets, I think the Idrive comes with one in the glovebox for adding music to the hard drive, but you can pay to add one in the centre console for connecting MP3 players/ phone etc. Mines got both but spec'd quite highly on the entertainment front so I'm just assuming there, better seeing if anyone with the Idrive is missing one inside the centre to say for certain.

Hi Mate, its Fawdington in Newcastle,

Got delayed last week, going up on Saturday to do the deal so to speak

Coopers rang to see why I hadnt purchased the car from them, Told them why and now they will match the price.... told them where to go!

Guys, before you sign with BMW, try asset finance part of Clydesdale bank, I am paying 5.3% on a lease purchase try them

Deal done.

Black Z4 2.3 SE
Black Leather
Connectivity Pack
Sat Nav
Business Loud Speaker System
Wind Deflector
Heated Steats

Matched the Broadspeed Price, book price for my car.

The HP deal is on the table..which is not too bad, but I dont have to take it...they said if I cant find anything better they will honour their quote!

5 Week wait apparently now!

Sports seats? Which wheels did you go for? M sport?

Bet you can't wait....PM me re finance as I have a good contact at Oracle.....

Mmm nice options, just about right with going mad. Although as Nick says, did you go for sports seats too?

Yeah sports seats, also forgot to mention the auto lights/rain sensor

Standard wheels, the Mrs has a habbit of curbing wheels very easily/quickly, our 3 month old Fabia vRS has 2 out of the 4 wheels curbed!

The extra cost of tyres and curb damage means i could not justify the wheel upgrade!

On the SE I prefer the std wheels to any of the 18" upgrades (I like the 18s on the M Sport though). If I was buying new I would also get the heated steering wheel, but I am a softie.
