Test Driving a 3.5iS

The roof has been fixed, the indicator is likely a loose connection after they've had the back of the car apart and it will have a warranty so no real concerns.

Wondering whether to put #69 up for sale... :?

I think u ll miss the exclusivity of the alpina...
But im not a massive fan of the new zeds albeit im sure tht engine is a cracker!

I have access to a garage, so the hardtop is less important. Quaiffe would be nice, but again, not essential.

But then, an E89 is hardly essential either!

I need to get a grip... :(

I went from a 3.0 E85 to a 3.0 E89 and have to say as much as I loved the old E85 - I wouldnt go back !

Yes its fatter and not as sharp maybe, none of us are but we tend to be easier to live with!! :D

Ronk, completely agree

the E85 is a little more hardcore but the E89 is a vastly better all round car. i would not even consider going back to an E85

Words to live and die by - my new motto

I still want an ///M though :D

Think id be a bit meh...

A rarer more sought after car for a common E89 hmmm...

Id keep the money and get what you really want instead.

I should maybe have hung on for a 35i - But, I had an offer for my E85 and a holiday to Germany booked so I make I had to make a quick decision.

It may not have the BHP of a 35i but it does have a lot of the toys! So I am still happy and it's fast enough to get me into trouble. :D

I'd definitely keep the Alpina Stu. In another couple of years it will be worth more than the E89!

Thought that was a funny for a moment o g , then i stopped smirking for a minute & realised  you are probably right 8)

i must stop reading this thread or i might do something silly like trade mine in for one :o

but yeah have to agree why they didnt fit cruise for only £250 extra, mine comes in so handy

Water leaks into the cabin have been a regular thread. Otherwise nothing springs to mind

It was a regular with Kevinmarkwhite and JDM had issue with water through side windows but overall there have been no real probs. I was all set get the old coupe but the E89 to me is just so much more versatile for every day use (bar winter use  ).

Tim.

Mine didn't have a water leak....turns out they sent me the prototype of a new special edition....called "The Submarine"....
