It’s interesting what views people have, I found the 20i really crap tbh all the shove of my C200 estate. Every day normal. Not bothered by tech any more, it’s outdated by year 2. Chassis I agree with, it’s good.

Not that special as a £47,000 car tho..

Wouldn’t you like to try the full fat car Maniac, make the most of that chassis..?

C'mon John  its not really "full fat " is it  you don't really believe that hype do you

Hang on , , , , you know its not a 4 litre don't you :P :D

I know it's not me being a dick, there are pics all over the web today of the latest 3 series., it's stunning & you just can't say that about the latest Z. The headlight design & positioning is woeful by comparison

Currently, M4 ‘vert is going for less brand new...

But how much power do you want..? Mid 4’s to 60 with the mid range acceleration times it’s got make it a quick car...smaller than an M4, very comfy...

Each to their own though...

You can say it Andy....look at one in the flesh then tell me it’s as bad as you think in the pics. Even if you still do drive one, you can’t see the front from inside the cabin.... :P

Now why didnt they try to design that front end into the new Z

One thing I find odd about the new generation of BMWs is the grills are blocked... they're just cosmetic. they're not vented like previous generations.

They open up when you accelerate, it's for aerodynamics

Also test drove the M40i today. What a car! However, despite saying for some time my next car will be an auto, once I climbed back into the manual Coupe for the short trip back home I fell in love with my car all over again

Ah right. I wondered if that was the case. Can't see from inside the car though, so couldn't be sure.

Am i the only one that thinks the new 3 series is also painfully ugly?

Yeah, the colour choices are not ace, and the red lava leather is more orange than I’d like. Maybe more options will be introduced ?

Definitely. I’m looking forward to seeing what options are introduced for the LCI.

I am sure they will change things around for the next model year ...

I also prefer the previous gen, the 2019 looks too bulky to my eyes

The 3 has got bigger & is now hard to distinguish from the 5 at first glance , don't the 3,4 & 5 series share the same floorpan as the 7 series :?

You’re supposed to drink whiskey after the road test John ..

Being fair, I ain’t driven one.

But neither do I want to, I viewed and that was enough

I'm not sure, seems unlikely because of the size difference?

My indy mentioned it when we were discussing how big the later 3s were compared to the E90 gen , seems the latest Z shares the same platform which kinda explains comments of how large it looks in the real .

Agreed it’s personal choice and these are my own opinions of course. It just didn’t feel special enough to me and the interior is just the same as a 3 series now...

I’m off to Elms Stansted this morning to see what it’s all about...thinking the missus might actually like it and swap the TT out.

The rear looks good, the side a bit meh, and the front is just a mess of black plastic. I need to see one in the metal, forgot to have a squint yesterday

The new interior dash form is growing on me though, the more I see it.

I do get your point though Gaz, I wouldn’t entertain an Audi TT, ugly as sin. Imho if someone just doesn’t like one part, ie, the front then they’re missing out but if it’s really the whole thing then....

Try one out of interest though, you’ll be impressed I think...........even being how fussy and unreasonable you are..... :poke:
