Strastone in Chesterfield have got a promotion weekend on and have got a few cars to try out so thought I would give the M5 a go.. it is a big old boat compared to the Zed but went like something off a shiney shovel !!! and looked like the space shuttle inside and the Zed was a bit ostentatious for my liking in orange with the orange trim inside but the sound of the motor compared to my 28i made me jealous

I really fancy a go in the new M5. I had a short drive of the last one (V10) and even though it was a beast, I didn't really like it.

Does the new one feel like a tank one minute and a rocket the next? Also, I've gotten used to the interesting handling of the Z4 and like its waywardness! Did the M5 feel a bit too sorted??

The new M5 (and M4...) are on the 'list in my head' for what comes next after the Zed. I'll keep my eyes peeled to see if the dealer round here does a promotion weekend and see if I can get invited. One thing that surprises me about the dealer is that I've not heard from them since the day I drove my car out of the showroom. I thought they'd be sniffing around to get me to part with some cash again.

Also, you're right about the noise of the Zed. I still grin at the sounds it makes even after 2 years.

Yes both were nice but when I got in mine and drove home I wouldnt have swapped it for either..checked the price of the M5 when I got home and not much change from 75 big ones :o

The guy's who were running the show said they were touring the country trying to drum up trade so it may come to a dealer near you soon.. they also had a couple of driving sims based on GTa2 set up too

neighbours son has pimped a 535 (to M5 standards +) and went for a spin, yes its fast but not engaging, soon at 110 down country roads felt like 60 sort of very flat.

Went in my old 30i much more fun twitching the rear, top down. He was impressed with the auto. My new 28i is a bit faster but nothing like the 35is (until I get it chipped). but he was manic in 1st and 2nd and frankly dangerous.

M4 or even just the 4 convert 28i may be something Ill be looking at in 2016 assuming the new zd4 has not been put out.

Eastern bmw havev had some amazing deals on m5's and m3's. I believe around 400 per month for the m3 and around 600 per month for the m5.

Theres more detail in the mpower section on pistonheads.
