Noooooo, not a new car but the first drive with my zhp fitted-pleased to say I'm very happy with it
The smaller height reduces the mechanical advantage aspect obviously but it's not a heavy throw as such anyway-looks good & feels more sporty being shorter.
I found the extra weight has the effect of dampening down the recalcitrance of the change (especially the slightly awkward first-second shift)

Yes they do seem to make the gear change feel better (Placebo effect?) and have the benefit of looking a lot sportier.
I had mine recovered with perforated leather by Royal steering wheels to match the SW and handbrake lever.
