Test Drive - 3.0si owners!

Just took a 3.0si for a test drive - tasty car! Felt more sure-footed than mine despite running on RFTs, and the gear change was noticeably more substantial than the 2.0. Condition was great, as far as under the bonnet / interior / wheels go.

Only thing that came up was when maneuvering at slow speed - the wheel at full lock felt 'odd' at the end of the travel. It was harder to turn and felt slightly lumpy. I wasn't sure if it was just the additional weight of the engine or not since the steering in general was slightly heavier than mine - or if it's a sign of something wrong like the bushes wearing out?

It's an AUC car so there's the backing of a warranty and I'm guessing anything flagged up now can be sorted unless it's a little more series. Any thoughts?
 
OK looks like I can answer this one myself. A look over the 'problems' forum shows it as the tyres losing a little grip from time to time which would be the lumps felt. That or the steering rack is broken :P
 
I've had my first Z4 (3.0si) since November and when I've needed to to do a 3 point turn and gone to/close to full lock there sometimes feels like a slight crunch , just for a second or so. (Almost like turning the wheel on gravel.).

So I'm not sure either if this is something wearing out or just how it is. Other than that, the car is fantastic.

I get this too, occassionally... And I read something about it on here, but can't remember what it was :P . Lemme have a think... But whilst I am thinking, I remember disregarding it as an issue :thumbsup:
 
You think the steering is hard to turn.. try pressing the sport button and doing it again :evil:
