Temu spam

Anyone else getting a bit fed up with this Temu crap popping up every ten seconds. I must have reported 20 or more and still they keep coming.
All the same user too it seems.

So 'w2g9hyxknu' if you're reading this, you are an annoying tw*t!

Bots unfortunately. Can’t remember if there is any captcha or similar when registering here.

But you’re right [ref]enuff_zed[/ref], annoying af.

I love Temu. Where else can you buy things you didn't know you needed for just 86p?

I bought a watch from there last year. It looks lovely and cost £8.76 (free shipping). It keeps better time than any expensive watch I've ever owned. Admittedly you can't change the battery and the stainless steel bracelet is starting to rust, but those are just details!

Me too - I've ordered a few bargains I never knew I needed!

I haven't noticed any spam from Temu. Just a few adverts in the usual places. I've bought stuff from Temu, via this site, so would expect that. Hopefully that brings the site a little revenue too.

I just bought one of the stupidly powerful little hand held fans that Muc Off are charging £100 and I paid £12 for it and it took 4 days to arrive!

Don't let trump know we are using Temu. He will deport us all and add 2000% taxes to all transactions.

Not even noticed to be honest although I do use a VPN and spam blockers on my laptop and mobile so maybe it gets filtered out.

I'm more worried about the Coop with the recent hacking of private data and how safe savings accounts and banking info is with them, who knows :?

Tim.

You would have seen these as they were posts.
But I reported dozens and I think someone else was too, so the Admins must have cleared it all up pretty quickly.

They are advertising SPAM on the telly again. I haven't seen an advert for that since about 1983. Next will be a big new campaign for "Brain's Faggots" or "SMASH". :D

Wasn’t it Cadbury Smash?
Yep Cadbury sold dried potato flake (from the 2nd world war and the US space program) and turned it into the ultimate 'convenience' food in the 70s.

Marketing was never better than in those days.

Sorry about the spam guys. A few months back I turned off our software based spam filter and replaced it with a network based filter (as we were having a lot of false positives, especially new members posting photos). It seemed like it was working until this latest influx.

I have re-activated the old spam filter so hopefully that will help. I expect some will get through from accounts already created but hopefully the lions share should be dealt with.

It’s always a balance, to be honest, especially with so many people choosing to use vpn’s etc. I can’t block all spam without blocking the occasional legitimate post.

Bear with me for the next week or so, I may make some changes but I don’t want to change too much at once.

In the meantime please have patience and please keep reporting the spam (and not commenting on the posts)

Thanks!

No need to apologise sp3ctre, thanks for all you do in running this great forum
