A local sports car specialist garage has offered to sell my car on a commission basis - a very reputable company who only sells high end sports/prestige cars at £10k +. Wouldn't normally deal with a 10 year old car ( mine is a 2004 3.0SE ) but because of the low mileage ( 29k ) and original exceptional condition with FBMWSH it fits his criteria - His car's seem to sell quite quickly - he recently sold a special Porsche to Jay Kay ( that appeared in the local paper ) Even after commission if the car sells at the screen price ( which he seems confident it will ) I will get £7500 plus a refund on the road tax ( I've only recently taxed it for 12 months ). They will also put a warranty on it . Strange how people will pay over the odds to buy a car from a dealer but not as a private sale :? Wasn't going to sell it but am very tempted to do this - there will be a contract of conditions of the sale to safeguard both parties. Good to know good early zeds are still held in high regard.

Sounds like a winner if you do sell. You get what you want and they get custom which hopefully will be repeated in future. Not sure why people would trust a non franchise dealer more. For me the quality and condition of the car are my main concern. But I know that people will try to avoid private sellers.

I'm sure you'll think long and hard before signing and contract to sell.
