Cost £30500. Great spec, but no 19s. The finance package is OK and compares favourably with the original car from Manchester. My thoughts are to hold out for an MSport though - they look so good with the M Sport package and 19s!

I thought you would go for the white 23i M Sport with red leather (£32k).

I will enquire about that one, it is a demonstrator and not available until 30 Sep 10.

I have a deal on the table for the white fully loaded MSport. I think it is a good deal and acceptable to me, the downside is that they (Sytner) have offered a derisory amount as a trade in for my current car. The White M sport is not available until the end of september so it would give me time to sell it I suppose, but that is a real chore. I will let them know tomorrow - It seems to be very good value but has been a demonstrator.

Agreed on the mark that keeps appearing on the top of the seat from the seat belt? Only on the passenger side? I've even cleaned the seat belt so it must be getting onto the seat belt from inside the panel?

I noticed that problem just a week after my car was collected. Now before I lock the car, I always leave the latch plates (both driver and passenger side) a few inches above the button on the seat belt. The marks disappeared. The mark is caused by latch plate resting on the seat at the same position for long period.

Just looked at my seat's and mine are clean, I wonder, is the problem speed induced

zed4coupe, don't fear the demo car. Mine was one, no worries with it, and I'd buy another no problem.

Private sale market is dead, you only have to look on here to see what's happening in the market. Try the usual favourties like We Buy any Car etc and see how far you get, probably the same as the Sytner offer.

I am encouraged that other dealers offered me £15500 for my current car, that was underwritten by other dealers/traders so it wasn't an 'artificial' price. Sytner offered a derisory £13500. Car should, in theory, sell easily .... ad here (this is NOT gratuitous advertising)

Ah OK that sounds better. Can't you just sell it to another dealer for £15.5k then get the deal on the new 'un?

I think that white M sport has passed me by. The sales chap from Sytner in Newport hasn't called for a couple of days, he was endaevouring to better the part ex offer on my current car has not not called back. he has obviously not achieved that, else the car has been sold.

Meanwhile, I drove an M sport 2.5 demo last Monday at my local dealer, absolutely loved it, there is sufficient power and urgency in the 2.5 to suit me, the 3.0 twin turbo would be nicer, however that is probably not to be! I noticed on the BMW website that there is a 'complimentary' upgrade and finance deposit contribution for the Z4, so have enquired about the cost of a brand new Z4. Seems that the website is slightly misleading, you can choose a complimentary upgrade and the finance deposit contribution, of £2720 or so, is taken off the price of the car with the 'complimentary' upgrade price included in the cost. A case of financial smoke and mirrors if you ask me.I have asked the dealer if there is additional discount over and above the deposit contribution (which I assume comes from BMW UK) - I have yet to get an answer.

zed4coupe, sounds odd, the dealer contribution should be separate from the complimentary upgrades, speak to ksher because he did the deal on his and the complimentary upgrades didn't come into it, they were done after (I believe anyway). Agree the deal including finance contribution, then pick the free upgrades.
