Telephone

I have texts working with it - possibly emails too (but haven't received one on the go yet). The JETware does it easily on WM5/6 devices.

Lot of comments since I dropped off line.

Sound level I have no problem. I use the better located top of cowl mike (vs windscreen) and simply increase the volume with the MFSW buttons. Can easily talk at 70mph with the roof down. You can alos add a DSP amp to the system from Bimmernav. I use this on the X5 to great efect. Simply adjust the volume on that.

Search real deep in the phones bluetooth settings. I would have missed it unless pointed to it by someone with knowledge.

The jet software sounds really good and I´d use it if I could not have sorted without it.

I'm using a Motorola KRZR K1 and the bluetooth works fine. Volume is good also. No texts though. I'm prob just about to mess that up though as I have a new phone coming today (Samsung Tocco) and I bet it won't work with the Z4!! I'll post in the Phones that work... thread on my findings later.

I've tried a lot of different phones... And they are all too quiet. Might mention it when it next goes in for a service.

I also have problems with the volume levels at speed with the top down. No one can hear me, although I can hear them. My mic is on the steering column. Can you explain the DSP amp system or show a link? Thanks.

I'm not the person to ask about amps or anything to do with amps and sounds systems, but when I did the X5 bluetooth kit I added the optional DSP amp from Bimmernav.com They prewired it into the harness for me and in my simplistic terms it has a rotary control on the side to raise the phone system sound level. I notched it up a bit and have never touched it since.

Speaking to them when I did the Z4 they said to try without and it could be retrofitted later if required. I did however get the upgraded mike in the kit which may be your issue (not the location but the actual mike)

Perhaps another member can better explain amps in a phone system and alternative sources.

That actually makes sense. My wife has an X5 and her bluetooth is noticable louder on both sides than my Z4.

This is the Amp CJ10Jeeper refers to

http://www.bimmernav.com/store/catalog/booster-amp-bluetooth-system-audio-booster-amp-item-86.html

Bimmernav have sudjested I shouldnt need this with a facelift model even without DSP, I shall try it when I find a ULF for my retrofit.

I can confirm the jetware software works well, and is need for parrot kits as syncing contacts from mobile5/6 devices doesnt work very well without it.
