outside the car is looking factory fresh so tonight i gave the interior a thorough hoover, clean & leather treatment . in doing so i noticed a fault on my passenger side seat belt :o
its certainly nothing major but will annoy me until its fixed .
its the black rubber/plastic circle that holds the seatbelt latch in the right place for locating easily ? its missing so the latch slides down the side of seat .

That would bug me too. My one series has then but they are to low to server any purpose so BMW have fitted those bloody sliding ones that do bugger all except get in the way because they keep moving.

can you imagine the service guy tomorrow when i call to ask for the part ? :( april fool ? er no , , ,nutcase calling :) could be ? :D

"I'm sorry sir, but as the seat belts are regarded as a safety critical system, BMW regard them as having no user serviceable parts, so I'm afraid that we can only sell a complete supplementary restraint system (as we like to call them), not the individual parts. And you are aware, aren't you, that we can only provide them in pairs, not singly. Oh, and it's a dealer-fit only part - we won't sell it to you to fit yourself. Because of safety, you understand. And of course, we'll have to charge you an extra hour's labour as we need to code the new seat belts to your car's computer. Naturally, they are on back order from Germany, so it will be at least 6 weeks before we can get them. What colour did you say your interior was? Oh dear, we'll need to obtain them through the individualisation programme. If you'd just like to leave your first born over there as a deposit, we'll give you a call to let you know when they come in ..." :)

Classic!!!

"oh and we must also trailer your car to Germany for safe installation and testing purposes. We will not be able to bring the vehicle back so you will need to arrange transport to collect the car at which point you will be presented with the balance "
