TCU died... Ballsax...

So after not using BMW Assist for a couple of years I thought I'd resurrect the service.

Paid for it... Then spent days trying to get the car to see its active... Culminating in the car going into the dealer to be told the TCU has died. £720 for a new unit.

Looks like we're back to no BMW Assist mode. Wasn't that exciting in the first place.

Googling online it seems it's a common failure. Nice.
 
In the e89 it's a concierge service that can answer questions, send info to the car etc. A PA in essence. Also BMW online/internet/apps and SOS services, Telematics, Google sendtocar, and a few more bits and bobs.

Never used mine … Tried it once when I got the car, never used it since.
 
Google send to car is brilliant. As is the concierge service when you're late and can't remember the address of the restaurant that you are trying to get - the novelty goes some way to defusing the wife....
 
So I've collected the car from the dealer today only to find I now have working SOS, BMW online, online POI etc but no info plus concierge or remote app send to car/locking function. So I've gone from 0% to 70% of the services. Can't be a faulty TCU surely or id expect to have nothing.

Back to BMW CS and dealer to see if this is an activation/features thing after all.
 
Hi all. I've just installed the app and I've got a message that reads "A message with a security code cannot currently be sent to your vehicle"

Anyone had the same thing and know what to do about it?
