I drive mine with TC and DSC switched off 90% of the time.
Only when the weather is bad will I switch it back on.

Mine seems to be far too intrusive, killing power when pulling out of busy junctions, also seems to try and adjust all of the time when driving on the motorway..
I have had all steering sensors calibrated too, just always has done it which is odd. So for me it's a far smoother drive without it on.

Intrusive........ that’s an understatement!! The TC is a complete nause. Any slight slip and bang no power. Used to blow my lid if I’d forgotten to switch it off, especially if I’d pulled out at busy junction.

I couldn’t view the video, from reading the thread it sounds like driver error which can happen to anyone.
Are you saying TC on and it wouldn’t have happened ?

So it's not just me then!

I think in extreme situations the TC applies braking at the rear, but that seems to just stop you going forwards!

Looks like it's time to try turning it off! :lol:

I've had decades of practice in RWD cars that didn't have TC!

Lots of opinions on here. One more from me -

TC off when it’s dry; on when it’s damp or raining. I think it’s too intrusive (e.g when coming off heavily cambered roundabouts it will abrupty cut power and then you have to handle the car hooking up again suddenly when you straighten up). Less so than in the si, but the diff plays such a big part it’s hard to say for sure. DSC off was a great compromise on the si. I’m not a great driver but I would say that it allowed a bit more fun while still being predictable.

Sport button off. Don’t see the point of it in the ///M. In the si it weighted up the steering, so it made sense to keep it on all the time and then get used to the throttle map. Handy for heel and toeing too.

Not a fan of the sport button either although the best for me is a nicely setup cable throttle, just can't beat it

I switch on Sport Mode before I start the car. The first part of the throttle pedal travel is poorly responsive with Sport off. With Sport on, the response is much more linear, precise and predictable throughout the range of pedal travel. Heel and toe without Sport mode is frustrating as it requires far more throttle input.
Switching off TC really makes the car come alive. However, I tend to leave it on unless I’m hooning or on the track.
As for removing the CDV and fitting a strut brace, neither made a huge difference for me although the latter made a modest difference to initial turn in understeer at high speed.

...if you mean just a single press of the button, that leaves DSC on but disables traction control. I.e allows wheel spin but not at the same time as extreme pitch and yaw. Idea being you can slide it around but should stop the car swapping ends, similar to Mtrack mode on the csl.

As I said earlier in the thread, get M Track mode enabled on your Z4M and its way better!

I always have both Sport and TC on. It is true that the TC kicks in too early, but as soon as I see the light on I slightly back off and all seems well. In reality I am driving nowhere near a point that TC is really needed.

I may go out and buy some big boy pants for a TC off experiment this weekend.

For sure, as does the owner. I remember when it happened. The driver was abroad and took a bend a bit wide, not at any real speed, but the nearside rear wheel hit the loose stuff and sent him over the other side of the road and down the embankment.

You wanna know how I gauged that I was comfortable with the TC off, when you get the feeling..............its actually not totally off
