Tax disk holder

Can anyone recommend a good tax disk holder to replace the white plastic crappy thing that comes with the car?
I would like a nice carbon or aluminium one, but having read a few reviews about them on Amazon a lot seem to fall off in the hot weather!!

I use the plain magnetic ring from Halfords. Takes up minimal space and never dropped yet.

x2

They may not be the coolest looking things but they work as they should, and more discreet than the standard pocket holders things

I always use this type, never fallen off

If you look around you can get it in many colour to match your car

I was looking at that yesterday, the dealer ones are huge. I removed the dealer stickers and thought what to do about these.
A trip to Halfords today I think (just looking for excuses to drive it) :driving:

It take it that the front ring sticks to the glass first and then the back is magnetic to the front.
There were a lot of reviews saying that the front ring falls off when it gets hot, I suppose it depends how heavy it is (maybe that's the metal ones).

Bought a really nice brushed aluminium one from Halfords today. But as the screen is so curved it doesn't fit flush, the bottom sticks out off the glass :(
I think a flexible one would be better but they look cheap!! Back to the drawing board (google).

Steve, if the one you have bought is like the Richbrook one above, you need to use the additional sticky fixers, i.e. put one on top of the other to take up the gap in the screen. Same with mine on the Z3 but as the sticky fixers are small and clear they work fine doing it this way.

I think mine stood proud at the top and bottom and just used 2 pads for each point.

Tim.

I bought an ali one for my z3 its now in my z4. The whole process of getting into it with an allen key is a pain also the curved screen. My holder has clear kitchen cupboard door buffers to protect the screen and is jammed in down by the dash, it works well maybe obscured a bit, so what the car is taxed and it stops any scrotes nicking it easily if the tops down. :)
