Tank range

300 miles on 3/4 of a tank means 400 miles is reachable-pretty good for a 3litre 6cylinder engine.
I had a 1.6 ford ka some time ago & I used to get low 30's out of that.....
Regards

I get 200-220 in mine until the "feed me" light comes on. But saying that there's 11 litres left when the light comes on.

I think around 300 miles is the max I can expect, but that would be cutting it fine...

The 3.0 engines, however, are remarkably efficient for the power they've got

I filled my tank up last week and it showed 350 miles, but all I get is 225 miles knocking about to a tank. If I go on a run + a little knocking about I can reach 350 miles to a tank.

Most of my driving is the motorway and I have noticed that there's a significant difference if I sit around in a traffic jam (engine on) versus no traffic.

One week was particularly good recently - I must have done real-world 34-35 mpg. In other words 400 miles to a tank is achievable!

I tend to get 300 before the light comes on.

I always refill at this point as hate warning lights being on

300 max to a tank on my ///M.

When the computer says there are 0 litres in the tank and the range becomes "---", there are actually between 2 and 3 litres still left.

Best I've had is 367 from a tank, and I'm averaging 30.7mpg (70% motorway)

Thats very good, I've never managed more than 320 before but I do usually fill up with around 30 more to go and never get a chance to do as much as 70% motorway..

just shy of 400 miles in my 11 year old 3.0ltr (Roof down, cruise control enabled at 60mph)

Albeit it was on the straight and uncongested northern French motorways

Not in mine. Went to --- once, on the way home from work. Drove it about a mile, to the garage nearest my home The engine cutout on the forecourt. Close shave. Won't ever fall for that one again.

Regularly get 350 out of mine tbh really easily... £65 gets me between 320-350 had 410 out of it on return journey to London

Holy crap! :o Some high figures there!

My 2004 3.0ltr stays at 26.6mpg pretty much all the time. Same journey to work everyday, about 16 miles each way, ALL country lanes though. (And I'm either running late or can't wait to get home  )

I thought that was pretty good tbh. :?

My previous 3.0 si had an all time average for me with totally mixed driving of 31 mpg.

Current 3.2 since I bought it is in an average of around 26 mpg - some mway driving yet some extremely extremely spirited driving also. Sits above 30 mpg on the motorway.

I rarely check or at least remember tank range but those indicated mpgs are decent!

I get about 300 miles to a tank in mine.

That is better than what I got from its predecessor - a 2.5l AWD X Type Estate.

And the Z is rather more fun :driving:

I think 400 miles is pushing it in the 3.0. Theoretically possible yes, but I did London to Edinburgh last year which is almost exactly 400 miles and is 95% motorway cruising, the fuel light came on after about 350 and I wasn't willing to risk it.

According to Parkers, the average MPG for my 3.0si Auto coupe is 32. 55 litre tank equates to 12 gallons (roughly) so 384 should be feasible..

I think 350 is the best I could ever have hoped for...

Mine went to "---" a couple of weeks ago. Drove the remaining half a mile to fill up and could only get 51 litres in? Mine's a 3.0si Auto but I assumed it had a 55 litre tank?
