Taking the bait

Just wondering if any of you guys \ gals ever take the bait and fall for this.

I was in the left lane on a dual carraigeway at a set of lights which leads to a 50 limit, i saw a fairly new car drive up in the same lane then change to the right hand lane and crawl up to the side of me slowly to avoid stopping. The light goes green and i head off and he starts making for a sprint past me from a rolling start so i kept accelerating left him sitting (was a 1 litre i think), he looked p'd and sat behind me afterwards before we went our separate ways. The road was quiet but i couldn't help but think afterwards what was the point, I guess i just thought i am going to end up stuck behind someone driving slow all the way home.

Lots of people in my area seem to be driving really slow these days like 35-40 in 60 limits, the worst of it is they keep the same speed in the 30. Its frustrating when you can't get a clear road to stretch the Z's legs a little.

couldn't agree more.
I get so frustrated with people driving at 45 on open, de-restricted roads, only to continue absent mindedly driving at 45 through a 30mph village. Shows a complete lack of road awareness, and an incompetent driver

Yes I get tempted, however common sense prevails, I tend to let the chav in there 1200 Corsa have their day. :D

I'd just accelerate away as I would normally. If the guy in the outside lane has a fast car and gone - so be it. If he's slow I'll be in front.

I agree though about these idiots that drive at a constant speed. There's a cracking stretch of road near me that's 50 (used to be 60 until the Corsa drivers and police chasing car thiefs killed themselves in the bends too many times .) #

Anyway they drive along at 40 then enter my village that's 30 activating all the speed signs and oblivious to the danger, crossroads, etc.
