Taking one for the car!

Today i took my friend to look at a van he wanted to buy. Obviously we had the roof down enjoying the sun when a stone flicked up from the car going past which hit me in the forehead and bounced around the inside of the car like a bullet!
My head was not badly cut but it still drew blood, rather my head than the paintwork though!. Oh im only 5f11 and the windows where not open....dam lucky shot!

This is why I don't have roof down on motorway.

If the stone hits the eye of the driver without wearing sunglasses/glasses, it can cause blindness.

Ouch! I have wondered in the past when something has hit the windscreen or side window areas how often roadster drivers get hit. Even more so bikers, a flying stone must hurt like hell.

x2, glad you are ok though.

I never sit ehind lorries on the motorway, not just cos they go to slow problem with sunglasses is I find dust gets in behind them sometimes in the breeze, and into my eyes... Which can be very distracting to say the least. Anyway, I'd rather be hit on the head with a stone than permanently shut in a tin top

similar story but left me laughing afterwards ,
shortly before i sold my 6 series i was tootling into our local tesco around 4pm , windows down as i was waiting for a new coolant fan to be fitted later that week , ,turned past 3 teenagers when i suddenly felt a soft strike on my left cheek followed by a cloudburst of chocolate muffin explode around the inside of the car , , ,yep ! id been the victim of a drive by muffination :lol:
they legged it before i could even turn round at which point i just had a wry smile , , would have been a trick i would have played in my teens so i took it on the chin literally .
so watch out guys with the roof's down :evil: it was a pig to clean up . teen daughter thought it was mad funny :wink:
