It's 7.40pm on a cold night and it's dark and raining outside but I'm stuck at home, husband working till late tonight. I think I may take the Zed for a spin :driving: No one to bother me just me and the Zed and some good cruising music... Anyone wanna join?

Damn - too late dinner is served in 5 minutes....

It's a horrible night around here though. I'm leaving my Zed firmly tucked up until moring

I actually like going for drive in the rain..... :driving:
You can get the tail out a little without shredding the tires....

A short drive through Cannock Chase would be nice. Stop at the Wolesley Arms pub on the way back...nice drive. (I used to live in Little Haywood.) Though Lichfield and Sutton and ......

Thought your local knowledge was good. I've been in the area a decade now (Shenstone)
So are you ex pat UK or US returned home?

Don't think there are many UK ex pats that have been in Vietnam :D

My ex-wife is from Lichfield, actually. Ive been there a billion times. I lived in the nicer end of Rugeley (Etching Hill) and then Little Haywood. We had a couple of horses we stabled across the road from Cannock Chase, we road as often as our schedules would allow. Worked in offices Wolverhampton and B-ham and Houndslow. Traveled extensively throughout the Midlands and other parts of England and Wales. Had a mistress in Bristol and we played in Cheltenam, Haselmere and Ross-on-Wye. Covered the Black Country for a German computer company for a while. I have one son that lives in Stafford, the other in London and I have a daughter that lives not far from me here in KC. My accent can vary from hard soutside (sic) Chicago to mid-Atlantic.

I loved every minute of all the time I've spent in the UK either as a tax paying subject or visitor. I had an opportunity come up back in the States that was lucrative enough to draw me back. There are many times I think about that decision.

Cheers!
Greg

Hope you had a fun drive, I used to drive around london, Exeter areas in my old boxter late at night tho :) BTW just found out that I can drive top down at 70/80 KM/H in a slight drizzle and not get wet

It was a great drive, thanks guys  When I drove it on a late night last Saturday was better because the roads were dry and I was able to slam on the gas a bit more. My wiper blades make a 'grunting' sort of noise, like the kind you get when there's not quite enough water on the windscreen but it was pouring with rain, and yet still made that 'scraping' sound on every single wiper blade movement :? I've heard people saying putting vinegar (or something alkali) on the blades would make them smoother? Is this right?

Get an old rag and clean the blade edges with iso alcohol, do the same to the windscreen. You'll know the blades are clean when you don't get any of the "brown/black" stuff off anymore. Then clean the windscreen with any type of glass cleaner, this should help, if not, then your blades need to be replaced.
