Taken a while but not long now , , ZMR no 3

As in one more sleep , lift to the station , 2 trains , lift off a forum friend then ZMR no3 will be heading home :driving: :)
Been a long haul this one , first contact with the seller was over 5 weeks ago via PH advert , 2 weeks of info / pics / chats / discussion at which point price was agreed only for the seller to have second thoughts on letting it go :( he had owned for 5 years so understandable . so it was agreed if the exchange was to happen it had to be done & dusted asap but i was heading to France for 10 days so many thanks to "Darren Slone " who living locally stepped in by doing the deal on my behalf & where the car has sat for the past 3 weeks .
Tomorrow being the first opportunity ive had to get over for it , to say i'm fizzing is a understatement  it may be my 12th Z but the buzz hasnt changed , genuinely cannot wait to get this car on the road :driving: heading back home from Mansfield via the Peak district so into Hathersage , Hope , Castleton then out through Blue Johns Cavern to Marple , Bredbury & the M60 back to Lancs
Been 9 months since i sold my last ZMR to "Rally" & in that time i have enjoyed both the 35i & Si E86 but there is something special about the S54 , its hard not to feel the connection as soon as its started up . Very special cars & once again i will cherish & enjoy the whole experience

Enjoy the drive back , if you have any issues getting down here give us a shout , an I'll try an help out :driving:

Today's the day. Safe journey Mr Wilks. Enjoy the drive home. Oh and of course.
:worthless:

Congrats Mr. W, glad to hear the enthusiasm hasn't waned at all. There is just something about the S54! Enjoy

Perfect weather to collect your new toy! Enjoy the drive back and let’s see how long this one stays around for?

Great news Andy - it sounds like you might not sleep too much though!

You've certainly picked the right weekend to pick up a Roadster - enjoy the drive home. :driving:

Excellent. Looking forward to see what you do with it. :)
Well for starters clean it , then clean it so i can then clean it  Ive seen a few Zs along the way but i won't lie , the roof condition ive not seen the like of ever before & interior ive been in cleaner builders vans :( nothing that scares me but i struggle to comprehend why anyone would not want to make the car at least presentable to sell :?
Overall the above doesn't concern me , i enjoy the process of polishing a rough stone into a diamond & it drives right , feels right plus the history is impeccable

Jesus I’d be ashamed to have any car and let the roof get to that state, that’s just appalling.

So would I, but I doubt mr wilks minds! It must help with the price. :)

You’ll get it sorted Andy, it’ll take some elbow grease that’s for sure, looking forward to seeing some before and after pics

So 2 weeks with the car & its coming round to how it should be .
Its been quite a task getting on top of it & still have a list of "to dos" along with service & MOT next month .
Front bumper will be getting repainted & the steering wheel covers need removing & refurbing , otherwise its just been a mammoth clean + polish job .
Look away now if you have a dodgy stomach , this was the clay after one door panel :o yeah really  used almost a full bar for the whole car but very rewarding to see & feel the paint afterwards
