Hi,

There is a lady wanting to get rid of her lease, there is 14months left. She is paying 570CAD a month incl taxes. There is 36,000km on it and we can drive up to 75,000km. Buyout at end of term is $26K plus taxes. And she wants me to pay transfer fees.

It is a 2005 Z4, 3.0L Tiptronic, Premium/sport package.

Is this a good deal?

She said she paid 8800 down and wants 1k back but I'm trying to negotiate the 1k to be 0.

Have you looked into buying a used Z4 in Seattle, or Oregon state (probably easier since you won't have to pay taxes up front), and bring it back to Vancouver? Z4's are dirt cheap in the states, and many, many Canadians have come to the states to buy Z4's and imported them back to Canada. Since the Z4 is made in South Carolina, USA, you don't need to pay duties. The process is actually easier than most people think.

You can probably find a loaded '05 3.0i for $26K~28K USD here.

BTW, fellow Canadian from Burnaby here.

Im no expert on all this lark but it sounds pricey to end up with nothing at the end unless you buy it......

And its not exactly new either.....

Yep - I think we went through a phase of this about 5 to 10 years ago of personal contracts, balloon payments, minimum guaranteed values and it always looked so easy to get into a good car, but at the end you seemed to have to pay more than it war worth to keep it having already leased the damn thing for 2 to 3 years. Easiest way out was to get in deeper and roll into a new agreement and car

On the corporate side I can see it where it has tax advantages over other methods and companies don't really want to carry cars as assets.
