Taillights parking lights not working!!

Hello everyone..

This is my first post and I really need help. My car is a 2006 Z4 3.0i. My first BMW, yay!

After I bought it a few weeks ago I noticed that my fog lights were not working. Didn't made a big deal out of it. I thought it was the bulbs...replaced those...Nope. Then I found out about the relay, changed that..nope. then I thought it might be the switch.. I order one, installed it and VOILA, the fogs came on. Everything works fine, UNTIL I noticed that now my rear parking lights are not working. A faulty bulb light indicator comes on and a DOT next to the mileage shows up. I installed the old headlight switch back and everything works fine (except my fogs of course). Tried it again with the new one and still no rear lights, the same indicator for faulty lights and the DOT..but fogs works...

Wth is going on?

I am so tired of it but I want my fog lights working no matter what. If anybody knows what I need to do I will really appreciate it.

The dot is because the car stores the mileage on the module and you need to recode the new LCM. are your lights the facelift or pre-facelight version? also check that the module is correct for right or left hand drive. https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/select
 
mac27040 thanks for the information. Which one will need recoding, the LCM or the headlight switch? My car have the facelift version. And what exactly do you mean by right or left module?
 
I did not know that. i thought there are 2 different things. thanks. No LEDs, only round bulbs in the rear.
