Taillight Mod Question

How do you wire the tail lights to fully light up when braking as opposed to the half circle?
I've tried searching but came up empty handed.

BTW...is there a way to get the Zed to honk/flash or do something when you unlock/lock the Zed?
 
If you search the "How To" section for "Full Circle", you will find a thread that gives you all you need to know, and more.

Did this mod myself last weekend (solder technique rather than the splice connector) - it took about 1/2 hour... worked out great.

Any ideas on the lock/unlock flashing lights?
It only turns off the overhead dome light.
 
Regards the lights / central locking:
I believe that you can get this altered by a dealer as one of the 'key memory' options - to either flash or not when opening or closing the car. I think mine only flashes when the car is locked, not when it opens.

Dealer programmable option to have indicators flask on lock and/or unlock (well in tghe UK where alarms are standard). You can iirc also have a bleep, but nobody has that anymore as it's so annoying
 
Do you know if the dealer charges for this? Theres only one within 100 miles of my city...and they inflate their prices! :thumbsdown:
 
Certainly is chargeable, but seems to vary by dealer. I cannot speak for US prices, but £40 to £60 in the UK seems to norm.

Just got a reply from the service manager at Cooper BMW (USA). She says $110 for the hour of programming labor...
Maybe I'll just deal with it! Haha :)

Would an indy be able to do it?

I was referring to the dealer programmables of lights flashing when unlock/lock -ing the car.
 
yeah sorry my fault for just skimming over posts.

i would give them a call if i was you, also they may not charge for each feature so make a list of what you want i.e. remote roof, lights etc

might be an oppertunity to get a load of little extras quite cheap

What other features can they programme? I have remote roof down option. Would like lights on/off when unlocking and locking as it just makes it really simple to see if it has been done.

Can they programme roof up (ie hold the lock key button down)? Is it something only a stealer can do? What or how do they programme?

Plus, didn't another member recently post that if you break hard both rear light sections come on? If I wire both sections to light up did you mention the park light comes on? Thanks.
 
my dealer didnt mention remote roof up or down. also said they couldnt do one touch up on the passenger side...

independant I went to managed both :D
