Can anyone tell what the difference is in the pre and post e89 LCI taillights. It is written that they were changed during 2013 when the update came out. I cant see the change. has anyone a comparison pic?

Mine are almost 4 years old. They have been condensation free. - just lucky I guess.

(BMW still haven't disconnected my internet and assistance either... )

Don't tell em!

I hope I'm that lucky as I don't fancy coughing up £120 a year!

Only tiny differences.

The ones that leak are identical to the new ones but for one minute difference - the older light secures by way of 3 bolting points.

On the new light, it is identical except that one of the mounting points has been covered by a blanking sticker & no longer used (so the light is held by just 2 screw points).

I'm assuming that this screw point was discovered to be the point of entry for moisture.

I replaced mine a few months back for the new ones & had a good check over them side by side - everything appears exactly the same except for this.

Its interesting in the reviews about the LCI updated version they speak about the new led lights however back in 2009 they used led lights too. Glad to hear about the condensation problem being fixed.

AFAIK the LED lights on the LCI version are at the front (the secondary headlighting) - rear lights were always LED on the e89.
