Tagging audio tracks

I bought a subscription to Music Plus that was pre-loaded on my computer awhile back. I was able to "super-tag" tracks that didn't have the data including album art. This came in handy when I got my iPod. Well, Music Plus was bought out by Yahoo which doesn't have a tag feature, iTunes only allows tagging of tracks you bought from them. Any ideas where I could go to tag tracks without having to subscribe to any service?

Thanks,
Greg

Hi Greg,

I use a prog called 'Eags On' to tag mp3 files which links to the freedb.org database - very quick and easy to use. Here's a download link:

Hope this helps,

Here is another program that is supposed to do the same thing for most music.

Itunes let me get artwork for albums I didn't purchase. Though I did have to make an itunes account with me card to be able to do that. But they haven't charged me a single cent. Besides, who the hell pay's for music these days :?

I do. I downloaded 150 songs from Napster years ago before it went away but since then, I've paid for everything. I was under the impression that sharing sites were gone. Am i wrong?

Emule 'may' or 'may not' have music files on it... not that i've downloaded any that I don't already have

You can edit the ID tags using winamp - still my prefered music player.

Forget Limewire. It used to be good and like Hotline before it. It is clogged with garbage.

Now you need to use Torrents.
The only way to find EVERYTHING

Plus 99% of Limewires' stuff is virus infected.
I actually get my stuff off of a newsgroup. I pay around 20 bucks for unlimited downloads. They have almost everything there. I suppose technically on that note, I do pay for it. But the cost to download ratio makes it really cheap. I also use a usenet search engine to find the files I want.

*edit* There is also bittorrent sites, but i've dropped them in favor of the newsgroup as it's more secure and less likely to have viruses.
