Do wonder if the UK commons vote may have gone in a different direction if today's John Kerry evidence speech and the most recent incendiary bombing video had been available.

As it was the vote was based on very little hard core evidence and was right for its time but events are moving so fast it must surely only be a matter of time before MP's are asked to reconsider.

Bookies are no longer taking bets on a strike being carried out Saturday.

PS was the vote a three line whip or free vote?..can't seem to find a definitive answer?..surely it should have been a free vote?
 
Stuart - I wasn't suggesting weakening a side, merely removing chemical weapons from the arena can't be a bad thing regardless of who used/has them.

I like that the example of a 'false flag' incident provided was that of Hitler. Just lol..

There seems to be a resounding lack of understanding of the situation and the House of Commons proposal and lots of aggressive comments being thrown around. We're all on the same team here, I think some need to read up on the topic a bit more.

Whoever said the Arab league don't want us involved must be reading the Daily Mash...
 
One sect of muslims fighting the other sect of muslims is happening all over the middle east. Why aren't the Arab League getting involved and sorting it out? They have the money, they have the technology (Which we sold to many of them) If they don't fancy it why should we. When were we voted the world's Policeman?

Throughout history the Arab League and their predecessors can't even agree amongst themselves what is important and what they support so no change there.

Obama is going to ask congress to vote now.
Of course he has the ultimate say, so he may just be doing a bit of PR before he wades in.
 
Cameron had the right to just do it, but he came unglued when he asked. Obama will also look pretty poor if he loses the vote and goes ahead anyway.
 
Is it just possible that they both were / are hoping for a no vote so they had / have an excuse not to get involved?
The whole thing is a mess and it would be made much worse if the west got involved. It has to be an Arab led resolution if there is such a thing.

Missiles launched? Could all be rubbish but that's the latest news. Saying that - at mach2, and the first reports over half an hour ago - im pretty sure they've hit targets by now, and im not hearing anything!
 
Ooh missile tests apparently. Things are hotting up! The second news came of suspected missile launches global markets dropped.
