Sync contacts from iPhone X to iDrive

I’m sure this has been discussed many times but any tips on how to sync Contacts from an iPhone X to the infotainment system. I can pair my phone but it will not sync the contacts. I have sync enabled on my iPhone and both the phone and iDrive have the latest software.
Please help I’ve lost 2 hours albeit Sat in my new toy

MY =model year..when the car was made not registered..BMW MY run from September to August

eg my car built May 2011 registered June June 2011 MY 2011

my other zed built August 2012 registered May 2013..MY 2012

The car was built in May 2013. Options wise it has Sat Nav etc

You need to specify the Bluetooth option you have..different options have different levels of connectivity..

MY is important because over time they changed how they did several things both in terms of functionality and/or what hardware was used to achieve it..

Oh ok, sorry to sound like a complete biff but how do I find which Bluetooth option I have . I’m presuming it’s in a sub menu on the iDrive somewhere.

decode the VIN number it will tell you what your car was built with..

Wow there’s a lot of info and bizzarly states left hand drive which it isn’t. No mention of Bluetooth in the multi media list but obviously I have that as it comes up in the car

So S6NS is enhanced Bluetooth so you should be able to do most tricks with the phone and the car..

You may need to update the Bluetooth connectivity s/w

Thanks for the link and I'm pleased to say that my software is all up to date. Think I will un-pair the phone and try again.
