Switched to non-RFTs

Picked up my new car on 29 March and didn't like the runflat tyres fitted to the 326 wheels so tried some 18" APEX wheels with non-runflats and liked the smoother, quieter ride but the rear offset of 22mm was a little too aggressive. So, I've now fitted a set of 313 wheels with Goodyear Eagle F1 AS2 tyres, 19/8.0 ET37 235/35 fronts & 19/9.0 ET39 265/30 rears and hope that this will be the answer! They probably suit the car a little more than the APEX's too!

Mañana Marlon - after putting the black CSL reps on the E85 to replace the 313Ms, cleaning & coating the 313's with Autoglym wheel protector, replacing the APEX's with the 313's and then giving the APEX's a clean before putting them away in the garage, it's time for supper and a glass of wine! :wink:

I was just going to keep them in the garage along with the APEX's and the 108"s (can't have too many wheels / tyres can you?) but open to sensible offers I guess! (Just bought a new set of wheels with winter tyres from another forum member!)

Previous comments are that they are a big improvement on the E85 but mixed on the E89. I've only ever driven Zeds on RF's

I will. On the E89 it may be that RFTs are acceptable if you have the adaptive suspension fitted as I was told at the meet last Sunday.

The brand new runflats are of no use at all to me John! I'm happy to have them (wheels + tyres) in my garage so that I can revert the car to original spec in the future, Equally, as I said, I could consider selling them for a sensible price but really can't be bothered in splitting them.

Fair enough, I don't want the run flats as I'd be putting MPSS on.

Car feels far better going into hard corners & roundabouts feels more planted. Runflats are far too hard no give whatsoever. I've felt my car skipped & back lifted if I was giving it the beans. Since fitting the mpss I have far more confidence in the car. Love it only criticism I had with the car. Wish I had changed them when I bought the car. Dealer gave me a further £700 off the final price as I told them I hated the rfts. I carry slime mobility kit i case of punctures & AA card.

First run today with 313Ms and very happy with the difference to the RFTSs. Getting sensors fitted to the wheels on Wednesday.

DLH like the 313 on your car. Love the apex's but think the 326's or 323's suit the e89 better Imo Got to agree the non rft's make all the difference.

I like my 326M's and my Run-Flats with the Adaptive Suspension but would probably go the same way as DLH without AS.

How does the Autoglym wheel protector work, or rather, what does it actually do?
