Swirl marks here to stay or risk it for them to go away..?

Having read through various detailing sites it seems that the job can't be done properly in less than 2 days. Maybe 1.5 at a push. So you would expect to pay £300 or more depending on the wax etc.

Well it all depends how bad the paint is in the 1st place.
Also my prices have been for a correction only, no wax and i'd clay before the correction as well.

I detail all my own cars.

It can be done in a day (12-13 hours) if no wet sanding is needed.

I have a G220 and when you add it all up you can easily spend £500 on equipment.

I am happy to detail any Z4 for £100 but I would request that you assist me cleaning wheels and arches while I correct the paint.

I am by no means a professional but I have detailed: Porsche 996 Turbo, Mitsubishi Evo 8, Audi TT, Gen 7 Celica GT all sorts.

I can also treat leather, I am however based in Basingstoke Hampshire.

And my process would go:

Power wash
Remove any remaining dirt
Clay
Wash + wipe down

Inspect car for any major problem areas

Tape car up
Begin Machine correction
Lime Prime paint
Apply Victoria Concourse Wax

While I work on the above I will supply the equipment/products to cleanse and feed your leather.
I will also give some guidance on cleaning the wheels with the clay bar and treating the tyres.

When you say remove any remaining dirt im hoping that means wash before you clay?

Out of interest have you got a paint thickness gauage? From other peoples horry stories i wouldn't touch anyone elses paint without one now.

Cheers

Ps £100 is a very very good price nice idea about delegating the dirty work lol

If only you were closer, £100 would be very tempting.
With your leather treating, can you restore colour and lessen cracks/scratches? My seat bolsters are on my list of things to sort this year, I'm not sure if I should go in to a specialist for restoration or just try and use some home products or what home products to even use.

Yes you are correct full wash down with a lambs wool mitt and Poorboys superslick suds.

I do indeed also have a paint thickness gauge as people sometimes are unaware of body repairs etc which can effect paint hardness and thickness.

Hehe... Its the bit you are least likely to mess up... The dirty work that is!

I can dye specific areas of your leather for an extra cost of £20 and I would also need a sample of your leather to get it colour matched. Otherwise I would include a leather cleanse and feed in the £100.

What people don't realise is that the creases are not created by you sitting on the leather and folding it but they are created by dirt being forced into the leather as you move in the seat. When you remove this ingrained dirt and feed them the creases often instantly disappear or at least will be gone within a few weeks.

Stu and Sammyz,

Where are you guys based. I am in London and have previously done a fair bit of research through talking to others + research on detailing world and I am pretty sure I have a list of very well reputable detailers on my list now. Thinking if you guys are interested in getting a group deal sorted. Can call them up and get a list of quotes for comparison (and ask them to apply group discount) - and see if it is worth it? Still early days but we still got some time until proper summer. Good way to get the ball rolling.

Anyone else fancy joining in for a group deal, let me know.

If your really looking for a great detailer who is will to travel anywhere in the uk....... I know the man. He does good deals over on the boxster forum and sorts a list of people and hits the whole list over a week. He calls it a tour and his work blows your mind.

If you guys like i'll invite him over His name is Tony Spears or Spearsy as his log in.

Cheers

Yep I'd be interested, also interested in some kinda "group deal" as long as it's not too far from Cambridge, London would be fine.

Hi Paul,

Thank you very much for the referral. I have heard of Tony from Autoshines before. Do you know him in person and has he previously worked on your car?

Thanks!

Nice one Headrat. I will have you down on my list. Once I get more initial interest, I will probably set up a separate post on the group deal.

I'll drop him a line and get him on here in person......

Hes not worked on my cars but ive seen his work and has made plenty a car owner happy.

Cheers

Stu's in preston I think and I'm just outside liverpool. Would be interested in getting a group detail sorted if I don't have to travel too far.
