Sorry to see a damaged zed, and I think you've probably learnt a valuable lesson re: sometimes it's just better to be the bigger person rather than the bigger ego. Hope you get everything squared with the insurance and the car back to normal soon.

+1 - put it down to experience - one question your insurance Co will ask is what steps did YOU take to avoid this car. If you, in any way show that you were aware of him & did not take evasive action, it will not go in your favour as you were the vehicle behind, he was the one infront...

In a couple of months time, you'll look back & despite how right you may have been, the aggravation an accident causes is just not worth it.

Hope it gets sorted quickly & without too much pain

Some pig headed idiot decided to jump the queue cross the roundabout and try and push in.

I decided not to have it and as he edged closer in with no indicator he swiped me

Although annoying, it probably would have just been a lot less hassle to let the prick in. He could claim that you drove into him, loose your no claims and send your premium up.

Of course if it was unavoidable then so be it.

Unfortunately not nobody stopped im not sure anyone realised there was an accident until there was a tail back.

My help - I would delete the thread with the details and your reg number on show, it will only come back to bite you.

Get that near me.. A certain race believe they own the road and just pull out and cut you up.. I sometimes think about just ramming them.. But they more then likely have no insurance.. Confuse them by bipping your horn whilst smiling like a lunatic waving.. Maybe thats just me tho

I can understand your frustration as I've had many near misses like this type, using a van 5 days a week I don't take any nonsense (profanity removed) but in the Z..bit of a fairy unless I'm in hoonage mode

Perhaps go to independent garge and get a quote for cash?

A few things:

This is an open forum open to all, even the closed area just needs registration - you don't know who is viewing, is the OP insured with the insurer who is stickied at the top?
There are some horrible people out there and I have seen on other forums where a forumer has done a similar thing and this forumer has pissed someone off in the past. They then turn detective and send all the details of the thread to their insurance company thus causing a fraudulent claim call from the insurance company.
Generally insurance companies say don't admit liability - looks like this is a questionable accident re letting someone in/blocking them etc (not my thoughts), a few have made these comments. This along with pictures etc may not help the OPs case come insurance claim time.

Just looking out for a fellow Z owner in his hour of need

I agree totally and would not discuss anything like this on an open forum. It's too easily read by anyone. Sorry, but if that's read by his insurance company you have no chance.

I agree. It also looks, from the previously (now deleted) posted photographs, as if the OP was in the wrong position according to the Highway Code at a roundabout.

Suggest anyone who hasn't read this yet to take the time. There was a famous incident quite a few years at the Swanley junction by the M25 - a person was murdered in a road rage incident.

So think twice before letting your blood boil over, because if your insurance Co think's you're a potential liability, you'll find it even harder & more expensive to insure yourself in the future

Just read through most of that. Some of the stories told are frightening. Had a couple of incidents myself that have caused me to simply back off most of the time, not worth it.

Once in South London a guy in a beat up van filtered to go right across Clapham Common, I accelerated a little to carry on as he had been wandering quite slowly, then he suddenly cut back in over a hatched area and nearly hit the back of my car. Head out the window, swearing and telling me I tried to kill him... Got to some lights and he started pushing his van up against my rear bumper... Moved on, at the next lights he was out and punching my window (doors locked hastily as I saw him get out). Eventually he just accelerated aggressively past me at the next lights, running a red in the process, and carried on his happy way. Crapped myself - he could've done what the PH poster experienced.

The defining moment was on the M4 near Swindon in an altercation with a 4x4. I'm not going to describe what actually went on, but it ended up with him 'brake-testing' me at 85mph in such an aggressive manner that I had nowhere to go and ended up bouncing off the central reservation, spinning across 3 lanes of traffic, hitting a lorry, and spinning back to come to rest in the outside lane, wrong way round, facing three lanes of rapidly decelerating rush hour traffic. Seriously thought I was going to die when I saw the lorry coming towards me. Car was totalled but I was unharmed bar a bruise from the seat belt. Serious life lesson learned.

Imo looking at the pic i can see how they could be misleading.

If he accelerated in the wrong lane and squeezed in then he would have hit the front of your car with his rear.

Also you are right across towards the island with nowhere else to go!!

I had a RR incident last Friday... I was following my (new) wife home down the A38... A van was in the wrong lane and squeezed in, well nearly side swiped the wife in the process... She had to move over onto hash markings to avoid him... Which was bad enough shook her up as it was... To make matters worse she then reached the next roundabout, and the asian man got out and started having a go at her for driving too slow... She was going 70mph!

Luckily i was just 1 car behind... And i was annoyed with them anyway for nearly ramming her off the road! He was saying all this nonsense about women drivers etc... When he realised i came out he ran back and drove off... I was tempted to drive after him and beat the hell out of him.... But the wife was in tears as it was.

Wow, just finished reading this, it really does give some perspective on road rage incidents. We all get annoyed at the t**ts who need to be that 1-2 places further up the queue, but the truth is you never know who you are dealing with.

Sometimes it's also necessary to remember that you don't need to be 1 or 2 cars up the queue either. Let's not be all coy and innocent, we've all been 'that tw@t' :wink:
