hi there, goign to swap the front grill of my z to one of the chromes one, and wonder does anybody knows how t take them off and clip them back on without breaking them?

Pull!

In all seriousness they are really easy to remove. Grasp and pull! They then clip stright back in.

Yes - It's easy but you need to be brave.

Put you hands through the lower edge of the bars and pull firmly forward at the bottom while pushing the grille upwards and it will just pop out. Refitting is the reversal, just a case of lining it up top edge first and pushing gently until it clips in.

Edit - see you beat me to post Dannyboy

I like to use shaped explosives or pea sized helpings of C4 to remove the grilles. Saves getting your fingers dirty.

I've always thought of putting a black mesh grill on the rear side to stop larger debris damaging the oil cooler behind.

Any one done that yet?

I heard that also works for clearing ear wax. Can you try it since you have a supply of C4?
Let us know how it goes

:poke:

I have taken my grills off and on probably around 10 times because I keep respraying them black. I need to give in and get the OEM blacks for $75. Anyway, every time I take them off a clip or two breaks but they seem to stay in place just fine. If anything avoid cold temps when pulling them off and pull very quickly and they should pop right out.
