Swap my alloys for your 108's

Hey looking to swap my alloys for a set of the split rim 108 style alloys. Dont know what mine are called, 224 I think but heres a pic. Alloys are in fair condition with a few kerb marks but nothing major.

Could add cash to equation. Or if anybody has a set for sale let me know

Just dropped you a PM, I'm looking for a set of MV2s (which is what you have) to replace my CSLs so maybe we could work out a trade or I could trade/buy from whoever gets them.

I love the csl's think they look great. Thought they are worth much more than mine though ? Whats the condition like ? Are tyres alot more expensive ?

Hi..

Don't take this the wrong way, but IMHO - a set of MV2's (genuine or otherwise), are a good bit less in value terms - compared to a set of BBS 108 2 piece split rims..

You never know, someone may have a set of 108s in a shed etc, that are surplus to requirements..

Good luck with the quest though..

Thanks for that im kind of new to the z4 scene so have no idea whats more valuable. I should probably edit the first post but im willing to add some cash to the deal or would consider buying a set and using the mv2 as winter wheels

108s were the most expensive option wheel on non-M Zs ; I think (though am not certain) that the MV2s were the standard wheel on Sport models. If you price up some new 108s on the BMW eBay site a set will sting you way north of £2k. That said, you should only pay top money for mint ones. If they need a refurb - and you want them done properly - they cost about 25% more to do due to the need to split them.

Can't help you with values of each second hand, but hopefully there's something useful in all that

+1

I have a receipt for when bmw replaced all 4 of mine due to corrosion under the warranty and it was over £1800 in 2010.

However second hand values are totally different... An e85 with mv2 will be valued the same as a car with 108's.... If the 108's are shabby will prob devalue the car even.

Personally i would put your wheels in a shed and get a set of aftermarket with non run flats.

When you sell put the originals back on.

I have a brand nee set of 108's in my garaged boxed with my original run flats for this purpose.

I guess I should clarify what I said - 'top money' doesn't mean you're looking at £2k for a mint set. As aquazi says, second hand values are a lot less, and I'd guess that because of the fact they corrode you couldn't buy a used set in good condition that haven't been refurbed by now. Thinking about it I would not pay more than £5-600 for a set, and they'd have to be perfect and refurbed to OEM.

Chap on here used to do good business taking old 108s off people and selling refurbed - but not OEM with the Diamond cut rim - for about £400 IIRC.
