For those of us who've been enjoying the Z4 world for many years you may remember this car 'Swampy'.
It definatley sticks in your mind after you've seen it and for me that one of its appeals. A definate Marmite looking car but after many years of Z4 tinkering I'm loving having something completely different to play with. Photo pre-clean fresh from the barn with complimentary swallow poop.

It's a 2003 2.5i Roadster its been sat in a barn in Scotland for nearly three years. Around 130k miles, no service history.
It had a full respray in what i believe is Mercedes Elbait Green and looks like it never got fully put back together. Dual piston calipers, lowered, braided lines.

After a first clean and basic fixing its looking more promising but today I got under it and the hue from the rust is not a good compliment to the green.
I've got some thinking to do over winter on what my end goal is. After today I'm thinking I'd need to invest in a sandblast company and a complete underbody resto!

Anyhow still loving these cars. Less so for driving experience these days and moreso for the spannering.

I love the colour, but that looks really crusty underneath.

Hopefully it can be saved.

That’s very saveable Mr Tidy, I’ve done an MX5 much worse than that. Once all the loose crumbly rust is needle gunned off you get a much better idea of its true state and looking especially at the chassis lolipop pick up points here its not bad at all.

More of a suitable name??

The green against the yellow wall is all kinds of wrong IMO. Looks like earth sleeving!
