Sussex/Kent Meet 31 October

I did say....to make a point ''and yes I agree the Z 35i's sound better than any other Z ''

So stick that up yer tail pipes!!

Shame no decent stretches to drag both types of cars - M's vs 35i's.....one day

M Coupes/Roadsters look amazing too.

Only place for this is on the race track, it's just not possible of safe to do it on the public roads.

Thanks for arranging Steve, we had a great 1st run out in the new Zed, some nice spirited driving helped too, Met a bunch of nice people and YES.....

WE ARE SORRY FOR BEING LATE (my poor missus must have apologised to people about 100 times  ) so THANK YOU TO YOU ALL for being so cool about it (apart from the odd one out)

I guess the masks helped there huh :P

Ref the sound in the tunnel, I was in the separated bunch with the bright machine & would also like to add that I was revving it up large in a 35i the tunnel at the same time as the Lotus, so that was NOT all the lotus, :driving:

Mickm -lovely pics mate, would you mind erasing my numberplate and reposting - cheers  - Lewes Tunnel; I am going to go down the tunnel in next couple of days with the HD Hero cam and a dictaphone recording to settle this once and for all :fuelfire:  :P

Was fantastic to be in such a long line of Zeds, will post some video in the next couple of days, all the best to all of you for turning up and making it so enjoyable
Great to meet y'all, Petach, lovely numberplate, realised it says it all YEIOooooooooooooooooogh! :P talk soon

All - Really enjoying looking through the photos (and reading the post meet banter  ) on both meets that happened yesterday (Scotland & Sussex/Kent) but I'm wondering if you're all playing up to stereotypes?

One had a collection a mostly pre-facelift motors with the owners chatting about fish & chips, whilst the other had Lotus, New Z's, M's etc. and the chat about GPS tracking.

As I'm stuck in the middle (geographically) I've got a foot in both camps, and not wishing to 'needle' anyone - it just made me chuckle.

p.s. Nice selection of motors  Shame about the weather (that didn't live up to normal stereotypes!) - hope I'm still welcomed at the next ones :exitright:

Hi Folks

Looks like my car is causing trouble on the noise debate - hope I haven't offended anybody by turning up in it !

I was invited along by PVR (one of the rather nice Z4Ms of the day) as he thought I might like to come out for a run. I did check with srhutch it would be ok and also my proposed back up set of wheels (in case it was really wet  ) and he was happy for me to attend.

The original tongue in cheek comment about the noise in the tunnel wasn't to wind anybody up but I just know that as it is borderline too noisy for a lot of UK tracks then clearly it is going to be louder than a standard turbocharged road car ! It measures 97dB at 3/4 revs (just over 6k rpm)

If I had really wanted to wind any body up I could have started the BMW straight 6 vs Audi V6 debate .................... :fuelfire:

Of course you will be welcome. We had 18 cars or which 15 were Z4's so there is bound to be more variety, just wish we had got their weather. :(

P.S any chance of some more pics of the Lotus and if possible a sound bite of the exhaust :exitright:

Pity about the weather for you all but you seem to have had a good day despite it. Never thought we would ended up with a total top down day when we planned the meet.

535dboy :P :P I'm not offended :telloff: , it was gr8 fun trying to keep up with you and looking at your A55 on the first half M8  however with that 1 square inch of a rear view you've got, you probably didn't see me there anyway :D

I think Nick is just having some banter buddy, but I will add, that Lotus is BAD, and the sound was AWESOME M8

I could just make out a blue dot in the distance................

Can't believe amongst all this lively banter nobody has mentioned my total lack of directional skills. Still got pictures of us all going round and round that roundabout with me praying someone would peel off and take over the lead after I got us lost

I appreciated the variety of cars, the lotus did sound pretty epic and I was impressed with the 335 and the E89s so nothing controversial from me I'm afraid :D

That must have been at the start then as they were an hour late :poke:
:D :D
My mother in law  would like to "formally apologise to everyone that was kept waiting for us" due to her late attendance to watch our two wee ones, and she is "eternally grateful for the kindness you all showed" by waiting for us.

I did try to tell her we were made to buy everyone a drink and that she owed me £150.00 for this  but even at 82, she ain't that stupid

Oh, so it was you :D :P

I was so busy trying to figure out why the NAV system was constantly trying to re route me (As Petach will confirm  ) that I just kept following the bright orange noisy thing in front :fuelfire:

And I had the TomTom but could get nowhere near to the front as there were about 8 cars ahead of me :D

When you stopped, we were about 5 miles from our starting point again as you kept making left turns

:D I blame my passenger, he was in charge of navigation. All we had to do was keep an eye on the car in front. Couldn't even manage that one
