Sussex/Kent Meet 31 October

Guys, I'm gutted...

After getting all excited about my first Zed trip, I've just got back from a visit to Wales with a dislocated and broken shoulder. Was only in the country a bloody hour and busy telling one of my 5 year old god children to be careful on the slippy rock down at New Quay bay.

One second later I'm on my left side in 4 inches of seawater and my arm not where its supposed to be. Spent the night in Carmathen ER - general anesthetic and big wrench back into place (including the shard of bone). Now have arm in an over engineered sling for the next three weeks followed by some serious therapy to get it moving (and changing gear!) again.

My poor girlfriend though - she drove the Zed all the way home after never driving it before. Around the M25 I think she started getting a taste for some speed although repeatedly ignored my suggestion of the Sport button and DSC release.

Anyway, that's a very long winded way of saying I'll not be able to make this now. Take lots of pics and have fun for me yeah?!

Ouch, bad luck dude. Had my shoulder dislocated many times now. Never nice.

Just done some updating, looks like there will be 14 cars and 20 pep's there about's, just waiting to hear from three others.

Going to get somebody to have a quick look over the route and will send out later in the week to those who want it.

Steve

I will have to drop out as I am in Paris on the saturday now and not back until the 31st afternoon....not one to ever miss a forum jolly, so kinda miffed :(

Thanks man. Gutted as I just got back from the specialist. Apparently I have to wear one of these bad boys for the next 4 weeks then do a month of physio?! Apparently it will mean the chances of re-dislocation reduce to 3% though (while my chances of driving in the next month nosedive to 0%)

EDIT: And just what does the geezer in this picture look so f*@king happy for? He's wearing an external rotation brace, not top hat and tails.
EDIT 2: Sorry about that..rant over :(

Like a plum I never completed physio first time round and so I'm totally susceptible to it coming out over the most stupid of things i.e. once when putting my coat on, once when cheering for England during the worldcup, once when opening a door... You get the message

Just sent you all a PM, if you havent got one it means your not welcome

Only joking, if you havent got one PM me and I will send it to you.

Steve :D

Missed this one :)

I was thinking more about my son, but then again the thought of AW8 as an inlaw is enough to put a stop to that thought

No worries on in law front - she currently has a steady boyfriend

I did mention to her the propsect of her tagging along & she indicated she would be happy to keep me company - I will maybe how things are fixed closer to the time. I tried to coax wife along on basis on back of food & alcohol offerings, however, on basis of her response I think I failed with my sales pitch.

Might be worth mentioning that the clocks change on Saturday (I think).

Could cause a few late arrivals.

Sorry if this had already been brought up.

It has... and they'd be early not late, so no worries. ;)

Weather looking rather ropey according to my £3.99 weather pro app which has been correct many times

Saturday - 96% chance of rain of 7.7mm
Sunday - 90% chance of rain of 4.8mm

Looking very unlikely the orange car will be coming out to play

I have gone by the metcheck website for years, hopefully they're right this time round:
