suspicions on previous history confirmed

The car is currently in the body shop getting a the front bumper resprayed and having a few little things done e.g foglight replaced due to fogging, and sorting my accident with the freshly refurbished 108s  Hopefully picking it up tonight and can't wait!!!

however, the guy doing the work popped round this morning to say that once the bumper was off there was obvious sign of previous crash damage and repair (he has some photos for me) , but thankfully nothing major and he has sorted it all out!!

I still need to sort out the bolster in the drivers seat, recondition the leather and the aux doesn't appear as an option on the stereo but nearly there on the restoration.. already starting to eye up some 19 CSL type wheels in a gunmetal/titanium type finish.. When does it end?

I'll hopefully see a few of you at Duxford at the weekend: fingers crossed the weather holds!

If previous accident damage has been properly repaired then it's nothing to worry about. Mine must have had an accident in the past, before it was mine, as the whole front bumper, near side headlamp assembly and near side front wheel are all clearly newer than the rest of car, but no-one other than me would ever notice.

Hope that yours is back with you today and that you enjoy Duxford. It's a pity for you that you don't have longer drive to get there- maybe you should go via Lincoln!

I'm not surprised, as the title says i had some suspicions, i'm just a little disappointed that the dealer wasn't a bit more open about it: i'd put money on them knowing given some of the things i asked them to put right before picking it up - tbh i didn't really want to know (ignorance is bliss)..

It doesn't taint ownership experience it's been great fun over the last 16 months or so. It is just cosmetic and hopefully now back to near best.
