Suspension setup on Si's

I've had a few z4 3.0 and they seemed to tramline badly and not handle the best. Now back in the market for a z4 with a bit more cash, looking at Si's.

Is the setup better on them? Do they use E90 parts etc?

Suspension wise it will be identical. However if you change to non run flats i found in 18" form it hardly tramlined.

My si is an se model but came with m-sport suspension from new along with m-style seats, in effect its a sport model in all but name 8)

I had a SE, with non run flats and it was bad. Then went to a M and it was great. Due to commuting, the M is too thirsty.

Maybe an Si, which are all sports, would be fine.
 
Are you talking the facelift 3.0 which are all SI but can be SE or Sport?
Mines a SE and tramlined badly on run flats but is great without. Hubby had the Sport and it was the same.
SE is a softer ride though, better as an everyday, not as good for hooning.

True.

Most seem to think that Si = Sport though, where it's only and engine designation.
 
It will be in the original spec
General clues are that SE's have 17" wheels, non sports steering wheels and seats and in the coupe the headlining is lighter in the SE
However as the SE's can be specced with all the sport options from new it can be hard to tell
 
/\ /\ /\ This. Just checked on mine because the reg doc has just come back from Swansea and happens to be on my desk - and he's right, it tells you in there :)

Mine tramlines on the runflats and Sport suspension etc but it's not dreadful, I'm actually getting used to it now after 4 months ownership. It's still getting non runflats on it soon though
 
Ok, so I confused myself.

We had a Z4 3.0 SE before, it wasn't that nice to drive even without runflats.

Now, I'm looking at 3.0 Si's, probably a Sport.

My question is (and someones already answered), are there any differences between the pre and post facelifts?

Is the ride going to be the same on a Si Sport or SE as the prefacelift SE?
 
I would yes ! The sports have updated springs. Se have softer springs & sit a bit higher as long as they don't have sport springs fitted,which was a option on the facelift se ! Nothing simple :D
Bin the rft's & the ride is vastly improved :thumbsup:
