suspension set ups?

 In the shire Oxfordshire
I have changed a few suspension bits and bobs bushes ARB coil overs drop links and so on. I have the car at the height i want to keep it and it handles 90% how i want it. I would like to do a LSD swap at some point but that will be a while off yet. My biggest problem is i that although it handles great most of the time it is still nervous over bumpy roads with the tram lining and so on. I don't have RFTs and all the other mods have helped it is very different from when i picked it up last October. What i am thinking is that its down to the set up the geometry toe in caster and all that stuff.

My question is do i just get a hunter alignment or similar ( my local tyre place has all the computers but its a different brand to hunter ) Or do i need hunter is it different? Or are they measuring and adjusting all the same stuff and it dose not matter? Are the stranded BMW settings and tolerances what i want and need? My car is a weekend toy and i am setting it up to be more focused on pure fun than anything else like comfort! And can anyone recommend a company in the Oxford area say 70 mile radius

Any help from you guys n gals in the know will be much apriciated
 
I always use a hunter machine for alignment on all my cars.

But - I don't think It will read the correct settings for your car if lowered (Pulls generic factory settings for reference)
 
Good to now that your mods have not solved all the ride quality issues over bumps as i was thinking to do some suspension work for that reason. I am not sure that the problems lie in the geometry though.
Also as the previous guy set your car is lowered so the values will not be correct i believe. What tyres do you have?
 
All the suspension bits have made a difference. Changing they tyres ( I have falken fk453 ) made a big difference and the coil overs are night and day compared to the standard set up. And the Polly bushes have done what they should things are firm and positive.

I am sure the geometry being set up correctly will help. I have heard lots of people on hear say it makes a big difference. But I do think some of my problem is the dreaded sticky steering!!

I have been talking to Tommo about how he sets up his race car up. Hopefully after Christmas it will be sorted. I am looking forward to a year of pure driving and not playing with spanners next year!!
 
Why don't you take it to a track specialist and see if they can give you some pointers

I would be interested in how you get on.
My Z similar. Not done as many suspension mods as you but on the border roads round here the car can get quite 'lively' :o
