Suspension refresh parts list?

My car is approaching 75,000 miles and could probably do with a suspension refresh.

What bushes would most people put on the list to change?

I'd like to keep things oem as much as possible, the cars a daily driver and I don't want to make the ride harsher.

Are you noticing any noises, looseness or wandering ?
Mines on 79k & feels great over all surfaces at all speeds but i have read that suspension overhauls are inevitable with miles :? Is it not more a case of look to refresh replace if & when required ?

I was advised that the front trailing bushes were showing their age after the cars last service so it's been on my mind for a little while.

When I went on a recent spirited drive there was the odd occasional under hard acceleration/deceleration that it did feel a bit "squirmy" but then it was around the Evo triangle, so the road isn't the smoothest.

As the car is likely to become more of a weekend toy and get locked up over winter, I'd like to err on the side of prevention rather than cure.

The Vibratech engine mounts are on my list of would likes, but I'll total up the recommended bush replacements for the suspension first.

When I did mine, I renewed the lollipop bushes at the back of the front control arms along with the rear trailing arm bushes. I also fitted limiters for the rears as well. All OEM stuff as the car is used mainly on the road. It tighten up the car a treat - visual wear on rubber bushes is very hard to spot unless the bush is absolutely knackered.

I'd also look at replacing the anti roll bar drop links as well both front and rear.

Best mod of all for front end sloppiness however is replacing the enigne mounts - the S54 engine is a heavy donk and if its flapping in the breeze that's not good. The vibra tech items are SUPERB..

I think that sounds about the right sort of mileage to be thinking about a refresh. Have just had the geometry sorted on the car which included a shock absorber test and all is well at 58K miles. I will be looking at changing bushes and struts/springs when mine gets to 75k.

Your choices are a little limited and having been down the road of adjustable coil over kits on a road car previously, I wouldn't do it again. Stick with the OE quality replacements or consider the Bilstein B8 Sport shock as an alternative. Mine is sitting 5mm lower on the offside and that is down to the shocks even though they are working great. you will certainly need to refresh your springs too.

Would also be changing bushes for Powerflex, not sure if I would go for the black series or the standard road series. I'll phone a friend nearer the time.
