Hi all,
I was looking on tirerack.com at suspension components, particularly the eibach springs and koni shocks.. But, then I spotted an alignment kit. Do I need this? or is this just an upsale? Thanks.
You will need to adjust some aspects of the suspension/steering geometry if you lower the car but without knowing what exactly the kit is meant to do I can't tell you whether it's necessary or not. The geometry settings are one of the most contributory factors to the handling of the car. If you make any change to the stock suspension you will mess up these settings. This might not be so bad because the factory settings are diabolical anyway but it's better to improve on them than make them worse. I would ask them firstly what the kit is designed to do but also what is the outcome of not fitting the kit. If the outcome is that the settings become fabulous and the car will handle much better then don't worry about fitting the "give me back my crap standard settings kit."

Hey there. Were you able to find out what is the purpose of that alignment kit you were talking about. It was about the other day while me and my friend was checking out some springs too for his car, I remember that we did see this alignment kit but ignore it since it's not what we're looking for. Now that you mentioned that alignment kit, it makes me kinda curious if the kit is necessary. Or other opinions who have that alignment kit, can you please tell us it's usage.
