guys i want to change the suspension, and would like to get a coil-over suspension kit but i have to choose from H&R coil-over suspension kit or Bilstein PSS 9 Coil-Over kit ?!!

ur advice please :)

I've not had experience of them, but if I were in the same situation I'd go for the PSS9s. Heard a lot of good things about them.

PSS9 is highly thought of, but also nearly 2x the price of H&R. Is it twice as good? I doubt it, but that's a guess having experienced neither set-up 1st hand.

Tein is also a consideration, but they aren't well known in German circles. These folks sell their coil-overs for the Z4 for under $1400 shipped. (You may need to mention Bimmerfest to get that price.)

I'm considering coil-overs, too, so I'll be watching this thread with interest. Right now I'm leaning toward H&R based solely on finances.

depends what you use it for. i use pss9's and find it quite good. but i have seen others with just springs n shocks by H&R that work identical to mine on the streets for a lot less

well actually i want them for handling and bumpy rides, the look, not for tracks just street drivin.

i know the Pss9 is more expensive but are they the same quality of preformance ?! coz if they r i will go for the H&R coz it has fair price

i read that the PSS9 ride hight is ajustable but the H&R is standerd

I thought KONi had at kit?....was I smoking too much crack?

so they r both the same except the price right ?!

No. Bilstein allow you to adjust damping ... how firm they are. H&R do not.

Some crack, maybe. :) Koni markets coilovers in Europe. I don't know of anybody that sells them stateside. Ground Control uses Koni struts, but they don't list the Z4 as a standard application.

PSS9 is among the best you can buy. If you have the money, then go for it. I was simply pointing out that for some people, the H&R might do everything they need for a lot less money. I may end up buying the TEIN just so I can post a review or DIY. :)

I'd also look at the KW Varient 3's. I knew there was another kit that I was considering for my car, but couldn't remember it the other day when this post arrived.

KW's are very highly regarded on all other BMWs. I don't think you'll go wrong with PSS9s but I think the KW's may beat them on price. I'll probably fit KWs when the time comes to do suspension on my Coupe.

In the US, KW tend to be just as expensive as the Bilsteins, and they aren't as easy to get.

i forgot to state that i have the bilstein PSS9 coilovers. a great set but the H&R would ahve been an option aswell. As mentioned, if you have the money, go for the PSS9's. if not or u want to spend some of the money on something else, go for the H&R.

If you want a set of affordable coilovers with good ride comfort but you don't intend to track or auto-x often, get the Pss9.

If you want a set of cheap coilovers for the looks and don't care about terrible ride comfort and dampening adjustability and you don't go to tracks, get the H&R.

If you track and/or auto-x your Z4 and you don't mind spending money to get it right, and you also want better ride comfort than stock (and yes I mean better ride comfort than stock), get TCK. If you don't care about ride comfort, then get KW V3, but TCK still edges out KW V3 in terms of cornering performance (speaking from my own experiences).

Just blow the budget and get Intrax! It's the only system I've come across where everything is adjustable, you can pick your own spring rate , theyr'e completely rebuildable and most importantly it's easy to cornerweight the car. There's no point fitting coilovers and not setting them up properly. Forget what BMW say about 50/50 weight distribution, it's total boll***s and across the axles is even worse! Of course if you just want looks then there's no harm buying cheep and just living with the compromises.
